Electricity is an important part in our life. We can't see or touch it, but it is all around us. Our life will be terrible without electricity. But some people don't know that everyone should save electricity. When it is not completely dark, many street lamps (路灯) light up early in some streets. Some people don't turn off the lights when they leave the room. Some people are sleeping with the lights on. They are all wrong. Here I make somesuggestions about stopping these things:

    *Turn on the street lamps on time. We light them from 7：00 p. m.～5：30 a. m. in summer, and from 5：30 p. m.~6：00 a. m. in winter.

    *If some small areas are very dark, just turn on a few lights.

    *The distance (距离) between street lights can be 50～60 meters. It can save electricity and money.

    *If there are some activities, such as fairs, we can make the lights bright；if there is no activity, lights needn't be too bright.

    Ask people to save electricity through TV shows, newspapers, and so on.

    Electricity is a valuable resource (资源). It helps us live well and conveniently. We should take action to save it at once!

Twenty years ago，almost all nurses were women，and almost all pilots were men. Today this has 1 . The2 are the same，but men and women have different roles. Women now fly planes，and men care for the sick people. 

There are many other3 of this changing. In the past，women had to take care of babies4 at home and there were few jobs for them to do. Later，they were allowed to do more，but most jobs still didn't5 women. Now，women can do everything. Over half of the engineering students now are6 . They also report the7 ，the weather，and even men's sports. Sometimes women are reporting games and8 athletes such as Yao Ming and Liu Xiang. 

Besides women，men's jobs are also different from what they did in the past. Today，men work in libraries and offices. Some stay at home to9 the kids. They are called "househusbands" or "stay﹣at﹣home dads". 

Nowadays，men and women are working in every field. Both are able to build up their career with hard work and10 mind. 

Ye Jiaying, also known as Florence Yeh, was selected as one of the ten role models who won 2020 Touching China awards, a program by the CCTV.

Ye Jiaying was born into a family of scholars in July 1924 in Beijing. As an expert in the study of classical Chinese literature (文学), she started her lifelong career as a literature teacher in 1945 when she graduated from Fu Jen Catholic Unisersity, which later became part of Beijing Nonnal University.

In 1948, towards the end of the Chinese civil war, Ye and her husband moved to Taiwan. She gained popularity in Taiwan. With students speaking highly of her teaching, she was recruited by Taiwan University, Fu Jen University and Tamkang University to leach Chinese literature.

 In 1966, the couple moved to the United States, where Ye first taught Chinese poetry at Michigan State University and then at Harvard University. Later, they moved to Canada and she worked as a tenured professor at the University of Columbia in Canada.

Beginning in 1979, Ye began spending summers teaching at various Chinese colleges, including famous universities such as Beijing University, Nankai University and Fudan University. She offered her services for free and paid her own travel expenses (开销). She believes that her teaching is the best gift she can offer to the country and later generations.

In 2013, she came back to China and worked in Nankai University. She has settled down in Tianjin since then. The university announced (宣布) that Ye had donated 18.57 million yuan ($2.8 million) to the college to set up the Jiaying Scholarship.

According to the speech which explained why she won the 2020 Touching China awards, Ye Jiaying devoted herself to teaching Chinese poems. She only did one thing in her life, bringing the beauty of ancient Chinese poetry to the world.

A myth(荒诞的说法) is something that is not right, but many people believe. There are a lot of myths about the human brain (大脑).

One of the biggest myths is that we only use 10 percent of our brains. The next part of the myth is that if we can learn to use the rest of our brains, then we' ll be much smarter. People say this all the time, but it's absolutely not true! The truth is that although we don't know everything about the human brain, we know that each part of plays an important function. Modern scientists think the"10 percent myth" silly(愚蠢的).

The other most popular myth is about being" right brained" or" left brained". According to this myth, people who use the right side of their brains are more artistic and creative. People who use the left side of their brains are better at math and science. This is as popular as the 10 percent myth, and it's also wrong. In 2013, a study at an American university examined the right brain and left brain myth. According to the study, we use both sides of our brains equally(相等地).

It's true that we use different parts of our brains for different things. We use our left side for language more, and our right side when we need to pay attention. But there is no fact that creative people use the right side more, or that scientific people use the left side more.

We' ve talked about myth, so let's look at a few interesting facts about the brain. First of all, the brain feels no pain. Second, about 75 percent of the brain is made of water. It's also the fattest organ in your body. Here's another interesting fact about the brain. Around the time you turn 18 years old, it stops growing.

No matter who you are and where you live, the most important thing is what kind of person you are. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Among them the following qualities （品质） are the most helpful ones.

Be creative. In the modern world, the students who have creative thinking are needed most. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} and having creative imagination. Those who are creative have more choices in their life.
