In the summer vacation, I took a trip to Beijing with my brother. My brother was 18 years old and was in Grade 3 of high school. He knew a lot about the history of Beijing. He told me a lot about it and helped me know more about Beijing and our country on this trip. 

We went to the Palace Museum on the first day. We learnt more about our history. We bought some gifts there—a book for my sister Lily, a T-shirt for my father and a bag for my mother. And we bought some cards.

My brother was interested in universities(大学) in Beijing and wanted to study in one of them. So we visited the universities in Beijing in the next two days. We had a good time walking by the lake in Peking University. 

On the fourth day, we went to the Great Wall. It was beautiful and there were a lot of people. On the fifth day, we went shopping, tasted much delicious food and went boating in the Summer Palace. The sixth day was a rainy day, and we didn't go out. 

We spent six days in Beijing from 19th July to 24th July. We were very happy and got a lot from the trip. 

It's easy to tell someone good news, but what about bad news? Are there any good ways to give bad news without making people too upset? {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.

I'm living in a small village in the countryside. My wife and I run(经营) a cake shop. We live a very peaceful life. Someone might say our simple life is boring. But we love it. We know all the people in the village. I have much time for my hobbies-- gardening, fishing and walking in the countryside. I love the outdoor activities.

Chinese calligraphy is a beautiful art form of writing Chinese characters(汉字). It has a long history. People use brushes and ink(墨汁) to write characters on special paper called xuan paper. And it is loved by people all over the world.

Chinese calligraphy has many different styles. Zhuanshu, lishu, kaishu, xingshu and caoshu are quite well known to people. As we all know, Yan zhenqing is famous for kaishu and Wang Xizhi for xingshu. Each style has its own beauty.

Chinese calligraphy needs both skill and practice. The type of brush, ink, and paper used can influence the writing. Calligraphy is not just writing, it is an art form that shows the writer's feelings and thoughts(思想).

Chinese calligraphy is a living heritage (遗产) that connects us to our history and traditions. It is an important part of Chinese culture and adds beauty to our lives. For example, the Spring Festival couplets(春联) add more happiness to the festival.

With International Museum Day coming up, today we are asking readers: Should museums be free or should people have to pay for a ticket? Let us know your views. 

Museums are not only there for enjoyment; they are educational. This is why they must be free. While museums need a huge amount of money to stay open, let the rich pay for it. The idea that a person or a child interested in art isn't able to enjoy it because of the cost is wrong.
