江西省赣州市赣州中学2024-2025学年八年级上学期开学考英语试题
When spring comes, flowers begins to bloom(开花). Signs of new life are everywhere. For students in the US, this means a vacation is on its way. So while students from one town are on vacation, their neighbors in the next town might have classes as usual.
Spring vacation is also known as" spring break". During this time, students have one to two weeks off from school. Some schools plan the vacation to take place on the same week as Easter(复活节) . Not all schools do this, though. Since Easter is always on a Sunday, students who celebrate the holiday do not need to worry about missing school.
Teachers usually don't give homework over the break, so students can spend their days and nights free from school- time stress.
There are lots of ways to spend the time. Some families go on vacation, visit a new state or even a new country. Or students may enjoy the break by relaxing at home, reading books and watching movies, or visiting friends' houses. On a ten- day trip, for example, students might go on a tour through Spain, France, and Italy. These trips are often expensive, but they give students an unusual chance to see other parts of the world.
When students return to school, they are relaxed and ready to finish the school year.
A. Spring break is a fun and relaxing time. B. The break usually happens in late March or April. C. Students may have their spring vacation at different times. D. American schools usually start their second term in January. E. Others may travel to visit family members who live far away. F. After the long winter vacation, it's time to go back to school. G. Sometimes teachers lead overseas trips for groups of students. |
