A Safer Electric Fan

Over 130 years ago, the electric fan with blades was invented. Now, Dyson has created a new type of fan without blades. This fan is safer and easy to clean. It marks a huge improvement in fan technology.

An Environment-friendly Pizza Box

The green box is a special pizza box that can be used again. It reduces waste. The top half of the box divides into four plates. People don't need extra（额外的）paper plates. The bottom of the box can be folded in half and used to hold remains.

William Walsh invented the green box. His friends often ate pizza, but they never used plates. One day, a friend spilled（溢出）hot cheese on his shirt. Walsh used a piece of the box as a plate.

A Living Wall

How does your garden grow? Gardens by Patrick climb the walls. They are called straight gardens. The gardens grow on buildings around the world. One of these gardens, with around 260 plant types, is growing on a hotel in London, England. What's special is that the plants don't grow in soil. Their roots are connected to a type of cloth. Water is passed through the cloth to keep them healthy.

If you want to change your mood(心情) into a happy one, there are some suggestions(建议) on how you can get into a happy mood.

Watch a funny show or movie. This is a great way to divert(转移) your attention away from whatever is making you feel sad. A funny show or movie will also get you to laugh. Laughing will make you feel happier.

Do something you like to get you into a happy mood. For example, what gets me into a happy mood is getting a massage(按摩), going out to a new restaurant, hiking with some friends, making life goals and planning my next trip.

Listen to some happy music. Research has shown that music can help form our happy mood.  Listen to different types of music. Find out which music can get you into the happy mood.

Make a difference in someone's life. Help a stranger in need or simply ask your neighbors what you can do to help them. Doing something for someone else will not only make them feel happy but also make you happy.

Take care of your body. Sometimes if we don't eat, sleep or take care of our body, feelings of sadness will take over. So get 6-8 hours of rest. Eat three meals a day with snacks between them. Every day do some simple exercise. When you feel your best, getting into a happy mood will become easier.

Don't be shy（害羞的）! Try to talk to all of your classmates. Smile and say, "Hello! What's your name?" If you didn't hear the name clearly, try, "Sorry, can you repeat（重复） that for me, please?" Then give your name and say, "Nice to meet you!" It's really as easy as that! It's important to get people's names right. If you get themwrong, they might feel sad!

It is the Year of the Dragon. Of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac(生肖), the dragon is the only unreal one. But Chinese people have loved it so much for thousands of years. In China, dragons have long bodies but no wings. They mean good luck. They have a strong ability to control the weather and bring rain.

In the West, dragons also have a long history in old stories and films. Dragons there have shorter bodies and big wings. They are often bad. Some of them can breathe fire from their mouths.

What may be surprising is that the dragons share similar origins. Both Eastern and Western books said dragons were like snakes. One of the earliest pieces of dragons can go back to more than 5,000 years ago in China. Some looked like snakes in a "C" shape. The Penguin Book of Dragons in the West also said people in the ancient world often described dragons as big snakes.

What might have made us come up with the idea of dragons in the first place? Carl Sagan, a scientist, answered the question in a book called The Dragons of Eden: Speculations on the Evolution of Human Intelligence. He thought people created dragons from what they saw and how they felt.
