ClothesDonation (捐赠) Box

    Have youever put your old clothes into the donation box in your neighborhood? If not,you can do it right now because the clothes donation is becoming a trend (趋势) in Urumqi.

    "Fromtime to time, my mother clears out the clothes which I no longer wear. Youknow, we teenagers are growing fast. I think it's a good way to helpothers." Lin Tao, a junior student says.

    "Ioften pick out some of my clothes which are out of style after going shopping.Then I put them into the donation box." Miss Li, a pretty young lady says.

    "Thatseems like a good idea. Some clothes in the box are quite new. People caneither wear them or usethem to make things such as handbags and pencilcases," Mrs Wang, an old woman says, "sometimes I also look throughthe box for some nice clothes."

    However,there are some problems along with the popularity of clothes donation.Recently, a UTV reporter from Focus on the City has made a survey. Here are theresults:

    Some boxesare full of clothes in a short time. There is no more room for people to giveaway clothes.

    Somepeople sell the clothes in the donation box for making money instead of wearingthem.

    Somecommunities set the boxes in unsuitable places. So there are few clothes in it.

    Manyclothes are too old and shabby (破烂的).

   "What's worse," one of the staff in a community added,"we quite often see people throw rubbish into the box when they pass by.We've tried to stop them several times but failed. It has been the most seriousproblem since we set the box."

    In orderto make the donation box work in an efficient (有效的) way, our government is taking action. Clothesdonation will be better-organized and it'll be more convenient for people inneed to take the clothes away.

It was 2:43 am, October 20th, 2023. It was raining heavily outside. Suddenly my father rushed into my room."Daming! Get up! We're flooding!"he {#blank#}1{#/blank#}and shook me. That woke {#blank#}2{#/blank#} up! I ran downstairs. It was like a swimming pool. My mother and I started to pick up things and take them{#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

Things got worse every minute. We were in great{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Water had come in our front door.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}we knew our home was being destroyed, we couldn't do  anything to stop it. Rescue（ 救援） boats came and finally we reached a primary school{#blank#}6{#/blank#}. All the people there helped{#blank#}7{#/blank#}other.

I really have learned a lot {#blank#}8{#/blank#} this flood( 洪 灾 ). I have learned something{#blank#}9{#/blank#} about safety. I know in the future, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} I find people are in danger, I will show great pity and do what I can to help them.

As I 10 older, I got to know Lu Xun is his pen name. His 11 name is Zhou Shuren. He was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province in 1881. He 12 in the Sanwei Study from the age of 12 to 17.13 , the Sanwei Study was a famous private (私人的) school in Shaoxing at that time. At first, Lu Xun hoped to be a doctor,14 he went to Japan to study medicine (医学). But he started writing short15 a few years later because he wanted to tell people about society. 2 of such novels are A Madman's Diary and The True Story of Ah Q. 

Now students can find some of Lu Xun's works in their textbooks. 

Every week I have a two-day holiday. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}So every weekend I have a good time.
