AI is popular around the world, which makes our life easier and more fun. Now AI humans are coming into our life. They can be like real people by making human's voices and moves. Let's see what else they can do.

AI humans today appear in many ways. They can be famous singers, reporters and more. In June 2021, Hua Zhibing became the earliest AI human online in Tsinghua University. As an AI student, she can make music, draw pictures and sing well. In February 2022, Baidu showed its AI idol (偶像), Xi Jiajia. She can dress herself up in different clothes and even make alive stream (直播)! In China Fashion Week 2022, Xi Jiajia became famous in an online virtual fashion show (虚拟时装秀). Then China made more AI humans. Do you still remember the Asian Games on September 23rd, 2023? All eyes were on the exciting time when an AI human, Nongchaoer lit the torch (点亮火炬).

AI humans can do something that people cannot do in the real world, such as time travel. However, they have their disadvantages. Take Xi Jiajia as an example, she doesn't have rich feelings like humans. There is something that only a real person can have. What's more, AI humans can't do teamwork or discuss with others in realtime. We are looking forward to the further improvement of AI humans.

A woman in jeans stood at the window of an expensive shop. Though she hesitated (犹豫) for moment, she finally went in and asked to see a dress that was in the window. The assistant who served her did not like the way she was dressed. Looking at her scornfully (轻蔑地), he told her that the dress was sold. The woman walked out of the shop angrily and decided to punish the assistant next day. She returned to the shop the following morning dressed in fur (毛皮) coat, with a handbag in one hand and a long umbrella in the other. After finding the rude assistant, she asked for the same dress. Not realizing who was, the assistant was eager (热情的) to serve her this time. With great difficulty, he climbed into the shop window to get the dress. As soon as she saw it, the woman said she did not like it. She enjoyed herself making the assistant bring almost everything in the window before finally buying the dress she had first asked for.

Otters (水獭) are cute water animals. These days, keeping otters as pets is getting popular. In Japan, some "otter cafés (咖啡馆)" are open for business. People can pay to play with the otters there and to take photos with them. In Indonesia, people go swimming with their pet otters and take funny videos. These photos and videos posted online have interested more people to buy otters as pets. 

However, these enjoyable photos and videos hide the damage (损害) that the online trade is doing to otters. In fact, wild otters are facing many threats—they have long been hunted for their coats; in some places, fishermen have been killing otters in order to stop them from eating fish; and now, the online pet trade has become another big problem for otters. 

In the wild, baby otters usually stay with their mothers during their first year of life. According to a report, 70% of the otters sold online are under one year old. These baby otters have been stolen from their mothers. When they are kept as pets by humans, they do not live full and natural lives. 

Otters are very social. They live in family groups of up to 15 in the wild. Keeping an otter as a pet can make it very sad and lonely. These animals also need enough space to swim. Their owners' bathtubs (浴缸) or pools are nowhere near as large as the bodies of water in the wild. 

On the other hand, otters simply don't make good pets. They have a very special fishy smell. If they are kept indoors, they will leave a lot of waste around the house. This would make the smell even more unpleasant. Besides, when otters are unhappy, they will make loud noises and even attack (攻击) people. If a person is hurt by an otter, he or she needs to go to hospital at once. 

So, we should stop the otter pet trade and never share photos and videos about them online. 

①It can be really embarrassing if someone sees you talking to yourself. But don't feel bad about it! Talking to yourself actually has a lot of advantages.

②You probably know that thinking is good for the brain. It helps us do things like making plans and managing our feelings. Talking to yourself loud is like showing this quiet inner(内在的) speech. It can help us do better in different areas like studies, sports and work.

③Talking to yourself, especially in the third person, can help us manage bad feelings. "Talking to yourself in the third person is like giving yourself advice." said Jason Moser, a professor( 教 授 ) from Michigan State University in the US. Jason uses himself as an example. He does not like flying, but he often has to fly for his work. So when he is feeling nervous or afraid during a flight, he talks to himself – only silently. Well, you know, Jason knows air travel is very safe. And Jason has been on thousands of flights. This can help us to see things from a different aspect(角度), especially when we're feeling sad or angry.

④When encouragement comes from oneself, it adds to self-confidence. A study invited 72 tennis players to take part in some matches. Researchers divided the players into two groups: one group that said nothing while playing, and the other that talked to themselves while playing. They found that the self-talkers showed more confidence and played better than those in the silent group.

⑤Self-talk also helps to improve memory. Researchers tested four different ways to memorize things: read silently, reading aloud, listening to someone else read and listening to a recording of oneself reading. "Those who read out loud record the information best," Researchers said in their study. It's because the information will probably become a long-term memory if it is said out loud.

Plunk! I dropped another pecan(山核桃) into my basket. Then a gentle autumn wind blew some more off the tree. I ran to pick them up. Whew! Pecan picking was hard. My basket was only half full.

I was visiting my grandpa's farm in Kansas, and Grandpa sent me into the woods to pick up pecans for us to enjoy later. I wasn't about to let him down.

Then something caught my eye: a squirrel picked up a pecan, climbed up a tree and disappeared into a large hole. A moment later, the squirrel climbed down to the ground to pick up another pecan. Once again, the squirrel took the pecan back to his secret hiding place inside the hollow(洞) of the tree.

Not so secret any more, I thought. I ran over to the tree and found the hollow was filled with sweet pecans. They were right there for the taking. This was my chance. Handful by handful, I took all the pecans from the hollow. Now the basket was full!

I was so proud of myself. I couldn't wait to show Grandpa all of the pecans I'd collected.

"Look, Grandpa," I shouted, "look at all of the pecans I found!" Grandpa took a look at my basket. "Well, well, how did you find so many, Jimmy?" 1 told him how I'd followed the squirrel and taken the pecans from his hiding place. Grandpa congratulated me on finding out something about the squirrel's secrets. Then he did something that surprised me. He handed the basket back to me and put his arm gently around my shoulders.

"That squirrel worked very hard to collect his winter food," he said, "Now that all of his pecans are gone, don't you think that little squirrel will be very hungry when it gets cold?"

"I didn't think about that." I said.

"I know," Grandpa said, "But a good man should never take advantage of someone else's hard work, even the squirrel's."

Suddenly I felt as hollow as that old tree. The image(形象) of that hungry squirrel wouldn't leave my mind.

There was only one thing I could do.
