Air pollution influences our health in many ways. No air means death. Though we can't see it, there is air around us. Air is everywhere and it gives a life to every living things. But bad air makes people ill. In the city, there are a great many people and there are too many cars running on the road. The cars send out bad gases (气体). There are many factories too. From the chimneys (烟卤) of these factories, we get the smoke usually in black colour. Every day we breathe it in and out. This makes us feel sick. When people talk about air pollution, they are usually thinking about outdoor air pollution. But a lot of air pollution comes from indoor activities such as smoking and cooking. Indoor air pollution can hurt people's eyes, noses and throats. So air pollution, both indoor and outdoor, can also lead to lung cancer (肺癌) and heart disease.

    Everyone should help fight against pollution. In order to keep us healthy, we have to go out to the countryside to breathe more fresh air. Or we can climb up hills to get more fresh air.

Wei Fang is twelve years old. She is a cute 1 . She 2 from Shanghai and she studies（学习）in No.5 High School. Wei Fang 3 at 6:30 in the morning. Then she has 4 with her parents. She would like milk and bread 5 breakfast. She goes to school at 7:30. Wei Fang is a clever and 6 girl. She can 7 English well. She often 8 her classmates with their lessons（功课）. All of her classmates like 9 very much. They are good 10 , and they help each other. 

I have been a writer for the school newspaper the Dagligtale, since my first day here at the University of Alberta. I probably won't work as a reporter after I finish university, but this doesn't mean my experience as a reporter has been useless. In fact, I have learned something important through this job.

I still remember my first news story. It was about the winning of the school baseball team. I came to the celebration and was told to do some interviews (采访). I was afraid. Talking to people I don't know was one of my worries. But I tried my best and did it. I talked to the students, the players and the team leader. It was something I had never dreamed of doing before. This experience made me believe in myself and helped me to improve my social skills (社交技能).

As a student reporter, I have learned to do research and to think carefully about what I read. Finding out the facts is important when you are writing for the school newspaper, but in the Information Age, this is also a useful skill in everyday life.

As a student reporter, I always know that I have a lot to learn. I'm never afraid of asking people for advice. I have learned how to use it to make improvements to myself.

To be a reporter is not easy, but I'm thankful that I have had the chance (机会) to try my hand at it. It has taught me to be a better storyteller, student and citizen. If you are ever given a chance to write for a school newspaper or magazine, take it and learn everything you can!

I like to help others because it makes me 3 . And I make many friends after 4 the club. My friends and I often go to the nursing home(养老院) to 5 the old people on weekends. And we also give them some shows like 6 songs and dancing. The old all welcome7 . Some of them teach us to play chess,8 I can play chess well now. We also go to the children's home. We make some sweet(甜的) food like 9 with the children. Some children love drawing so we often 10 together. And we sweep up leaves in the 11 sometimes. In the parks, there12 lots of green trees and beautiful flowers. It's a good chance for us to enjoy 13 .

Yumiko is a very unhealthy person. She is overweight and she never exercises. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(recent), her doctor told her that she needs to stop eating junk food or she {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(have) a heart attack. The problem is that Yumiko loves sweet food {#blank#}3{#/blank#} she wants to eat it all day! She promised {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(eat) healthily, but she always ends {#blank#}5{#/blank#} eating pastries(甜点) or candy. The other day she didn't want to eat some donuts(甜甜圈) that our sister Mina {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(forget) to take home, but she didn't resist (忍住) and chose to eat all of them. A few {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(hour) later, she regretted eating the whole box of donuts. I told Yumiko to try eating sugar free food, she promised to do it, but I believe she will go on doing {#blank#}8{#/blank#} same, eating candy. I don't mean to be pessimistic (悲观), but I know {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(she) very well. After all, she is my sister. I remember seeing her eating a whole cake when we were little. I hope to see her eating {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (well) and that she realizes how much we love her. I also hope that she starts doing something about this situation.
