牛津版(深圳·广州)英语八年级上册Unit2 Numbers第2课时Reading Ⅱ and listening训练案
This story is about a young man. He worked hard at his lessons. He was too busy. He didn't have time to rest, so he was ill. Every night, when he went to bed, he closed his eyes and tried to sleep. But he couldn't. He thought, "I must go to see the doctor." He said to the doctor, "I can't go to sleep at night." "Try counting numbers. When you reach one thousand, you'll be asleep."
The next day the man came back to the doctor's office. "Well," said the doctor, "how are you today?"
"Yes," he said. "I tried counting one, two, three … up to (直到)one thousand. But when I reached five hundred and sixty-nine, I began to feel sleepy. I had to get up and drank some tea. Then I went on counting up to one thousand. But I still couldn't fall asleep."
Useful Technologies
Can you wear your phone on your wrist? Well, now you can. Smart watch has a square screen and comes with many wonderful features. For example, it can tell the user's heart rate. And you can make calls with it. However, it only works together with a smartphone or pad. And with prices from $349 to $17000, many people may put off buying one.
Are you still using a thermometer to take your temperature when you have a fever? You're out! Now try using the Temtarq. It is as thin as a piece of paper. You don't have to put it under your armpit(腋窝)or hold it in your mouth. You just need to stick it under the arm. And you can get the information of your body temperature from an app on your phone. It's really convenient.
It's hard to keep coffee or tea warm, especially in winter. But this smart mug can solve this problem. There is an app for the mug that allows people to set the mug to a certain temperature between 48℃ and 62℃. Then, the mug keeps your coffee or tea at that temperature for about an hour, and even longer if you put the mug on a charging plate. |

Dear Diary, This year, I've set some resolutions to make the most out of my time. * Get fit and active: I decide to follow a healthier lifestyle by eating more fruit and vegetables and working out regularly. * Break free from screens: I will start limiting ( 限制) social media and having one tech- free day a week to keep in touch with the real world. * Develop a new hobby: Time to step out of my comfort zone! Whether it's writing, painting or learning a musical instrument, I want to discover a new creative activity. * Be more positive (积极乐观): I want to be more positive from now on. It might be a good idea to end the day by writing down three things I'm thankful for. * Improve time management(管理): I want to be clearer how I spend my time. I' ll make achievable plans, prioritize (确定优先顺序) tasks and learn to say no when needed. | Dear Diary, Let's check how well I've done with my resolutions. * Get fit and active: Not doing great here. Exercise started strong, but it has become irregular. Healthy eating is no easy task. I need to push myself harder. * Break free from screens: Surprisingly successful! I' ve cut down on mindless scrolling(刷手机), and the tech- free day has become a refreshing activity. * Develop a new hobby: Halfway there. I picked up the guitar, and I'm in love with it. Though I'm still a beginner, the learning process is exciting. * Be more positive:Mixed results. Some days, it's a joy to look back on the positive things, but there are moments when I forget. Need to set a fixed time for that each day. * Improve time management: This one is a win! I've been using a planner to organize my days. It has helped me a lot in balancing school, hobbies and relaxation. There's still room for improvement and I believe I will see better results! |
