There are a lot of museums in the world. A museum has many important objects related to (有关联) science, culture, or history.

When you're not at home, many worries may come to your mind. Did I turn the light off? Did I lock (锁) the door? With a smart home, you can keep away from all of these worries in the future.

A smart home is a home with a network(网络).The network connects(连接)with lights and TV sets, so that people connect them from far away by lines, mobile phone or WiFi over the Internet.

More and more people may want to have a smart home, because it makes life much more convenient. It can help keep your room at a certain temperature. It can record what happens inside your home and send the video to your phone. When you are on holiday in other countries, you can use a smart home controller to turn on or off the electricity when necessary. Some smart homes can receive a visitor, make him come in and service him a drink. They can even feed the cat and water the plants.

Besides, smart homes are easy to fix. When a problem happens, you can deal with it yourself. However, for home-users, the smart home is not perfect. It can be rather expensive to have it. Also, because the smart home system (系统)makes its owner to get home information from anywhere, hackers(黑客)may enter into the smart home easily, and they may use or change their information in the system. Now, many people are excited at the future of the smart home.

There are others who worry that the smart home will make people lazier and lonelier. But anyway, one thing is for sure--the smart home will change the way we live and work.

 Who's That There?

Stand in front of a mirror and look at it. How much do you really know about the person in it?

It's not an easy job to know ourselves. To help students do this important task, schools across China are providing more classes and activities on self- knowledge. 

Liu Yue, a teacher from Chengdu Yucai Middle School, has recently given her students a useful tool. "It's called the Johari Window, developed by two US psychologists, " said Liu. "It has four areas about one's self: open area(that everyone knows about), hidden area(that only you know), blind spot(that everyone knows except you) and unknown area (that nobody knows). Using this tool, students did a good job seeing themselves through a new lens(透镜). "

"I really want to know about my blind spot, " said eighth- grade r Yang Manfei. "So I did a survey with my friends. " The results showed that Yang easily gets worried and nervous and impatient because of procrastination(拖 延 ). "That's a bad habit I've never realised!" Yang said. 

"I find the unknown area most amazing, " said Sun Boyin. "It means everyone has lots of potential (潜力). " When Sun entered middle school, he was not good at maths. "But I set a goal and did lots of maths exercises. Now I'm much better at maths. The unknown part of my maths ability is getting clearer!" Sun said. 

When it came to the hidden area, most students kept silent. "I'm scared to show my secrets deep down," said Li Yixuan. "Then one classmate stood up and said his favourite cartoon is Tom and Jerry. I thought: Am I brave enough to show my childish hobby? Perhaps not. I want my classmates to see me as a mature(成熟的) person, not a silly kid. But then I realised that I don't find that classmate silly. I think he is brave to be himself. "

"Show yourself and make yourself better — that's the best lesson I learned," Li said. 

Henry is going through a very hard time. His wife just passed away(去世). He feels that life without her is hopeless. For months, Henry sits in his house, doing nothing. 

Henry's neighbor, an old woman named Lisa, sees him from her yard one day. She doesn't see him outside in days! She asks him to come closer to the fence(篱笆) next to her house. 

"Hello, Henry! Just look at this fence. It is falling apart. You are a strong man. Can you help me fix(修补)this fence?" Lisa asks. 

Henry is angry inside. He is the one who needs help right now. He thinks the old lady is being kind of rude. But she is too old to fix the fence herself, so he agrees. 

Henry works on the fence for days. When he finishes, she thanks him. Henry smiles for the first time in months. 

"What a wonderful job! Could you please paint it for me?"Lisa says to him. 

Henry cannot believe she is asking for more help. But because he respects her, he agrees. He works hard painting the fence in the hot sun. As their neighbors pass by, they all tell Henry what a beautiful job he has done!, Henry feels very happy. 

Several days later, Henry feels that life is still hopeful. He finally understands that Lisa isn't being rude. She knows that staying busy can help us forget our sadness. He helped her, but she truly saved him.

Trekking tours(徒步旅行) We have trekking holidays to famous places such as Machu Picchu or the Everest Base Camp Trek. You'll have a great time enjoying nature with a group of new friends. Some of the holidays include camping, but we will give the camps to you!

Every child has a hobby. My hobby is studying the night sky. But some friends of mine have special hobbies.
