It was a February afternoon. We were in a classroom. Taylor Angler watched some ducks swimming on a farm. But it was all in her head. A virtual reality headset (虚拟现实头戴式显示设备) took her there. "I was surprised to find that the ducks were right in front of me! It was an exciting experience (经历)." Taylor said after taking off the purple headset and finding herself still in the classroom. Many students around the world are taking VR "trips" like Taylor. But what change does it cause in learning? 

Taking children to visit different places is a good way to teach them about the world. But what can children do if they forget it after the trip? VR lets children go back at any time. 

It's difficult to talk about something if you didn't see it with your own eyes in the past. If you didn't see the ocean, with VR, now you can have a look at it for yourself. 

VR can also help students in science classes at school. "Too often at school, when you do experiments (实验), you put different kinds of chemicals together and then get the result. And if you aren't successful, you need to do it again," a high school teacher said. "But we don't have enough chemicals. With VR, I just need to do it again on the computer. I don't have to use chemicals."

VR is useful, but that's not to say we don't need real-world experiences. The real world is what we really need to learn about.

The world's best sportsmen get together for the Olympic Games every four years. The 2024 Olympic Games will take place in Paris, France. For the first time, people will watch breaking (霹雳舞) as a new event at the Olympics.

Breaking is also called break dancing. The high-energy, skillful dance includes moves such as Top Rock, Footwork, Go Down, Freeze and so on. The dancers need to think and show the moves of the hands and feet quickly.

Break dance battles (斗舞) are a common way to find out who is the best dancer. In the 1970s in New York City, fighting with others among young people became more and more serious. Some of them began to deal with the problem through dance instead. Just then, the dance style first showed up on the streets. Today people still "battle" in this way. One dancer will show off his moves, and then the next will continue to compete... The best dancer will be picked out finally.

Why does breaking become an Olympic event? If a sport is added to the Olympics, it must be widely practiced by men in at least 75 countries on four continents (洲) and by women in no fewer than 40 countries on three continents. Breaking meets this standard. Also, the planners' goal is to make the Olympics more interesting to young people.

"Breaking has been accepted as a sport. I really feel proud," said Xiaoyu, one breakdancer. "And for the Olympics, it will get more attention from young people who may not follow some of the traditional sports."

How to Learn English Well

Many of my classmates have difficulty in learning English. 

We know the 2020 Olympic Games(奥林匹克运动会) were in Tokyo. Which city will be next? In 2017, the IOC (国际奥委会) gave us the answer. 

Paris will host (举办) the Olympic Games in 2024 and Los Angeles will be next in 2028. For the first time, the IOC chose two host cities at the same time. 

Both countries are happy to bring home the Games. Paris hosted two Olympics before. It will host the Games 100 years after its last Games in 1924. For the United States, Atlanta hosted the Games in 1996. It goes back to the country for the first time after that. 

The two cities already have more than 90 percent of the facilities(设施) for the Games. This will help them cut the costs. 

The reality show(真人秀) is a kind of television program. A reality show {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ( usual) has many series. And it can be shown on TV for many years.

The reality show is quite different {#blank#}2{#/blank#} other kinds of TV shows. Because it shows the life of c {#blank#}3{#/blank#} people, and there are no actors or actresses play in it. It often shows true stories that happen in people's daily life. So many people enjoy w {#blank#}4{#/blank#} reality shows.

The first reality show a {#blank#}5{#/blank#} in the 1990s in America. At that time, the most f {#blank#}6{#/blank#} and popular reality show was Survivor. It was popular around the world.

Reality shows also show different kinds of c {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. For example, there is a very {#blank#}8{#/blank#}( success) Chinese reality show called The Voice of China. In this show, there are four Chinese sing- ers. Their job is to find their favorite students and help them be the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( win). Lots of people like to watch it.
