Do you want a job in the holidays? Just go for it. First, you need to know what kind of job is suitable for your age and interest.

If you're 13 to 15

It seems that you can't work almost anywhere, but you're probably allowed to clean your neighbors' cars or walk their dogs. There is no lowest wage (工资)for children under 16. By law, you can't work more than 35 hours each week during school holidays. And you can't work before 7 am or after 7 pm.

If you're 16 to 17

The lowest wage for 16~17-year-old teenagers should be no less than seven dollars per hour. You can't work in a pub or bar, but you can work in many other places. By law, you can't work more than 40 hours each week.

What jobs are out there?

Obviously your choices are limited (限制) by the fact that you can only work during school holidays, but the following situations are fine.

At Christmas, most shops are short of hands, so you may find something to do there. In autumn, there's always fruit picking. It can be pretty hard work, but it pays really well.

If you're mad about football, you can choose to work in a sports shop or help out at a local football club. No matter how much you are paid, you are doing what you like.

(1)、In the school holidays,14-year-old kids ____.
A、can work anywhere they want B、are not allowed to work alone C、can't go to work at night D、can work as long as 14 hours a day
(2)、How much can a 16-year-old kid be paid at least in two hours?
A、21 dollars. B、17 dollars. C、14 dollars. D、7 dollars.
(3)、If you want to clean cars for others, you should at least be ____.
A、16 B、15 C、14 D、13
(4)、According to the passage, fruit picking is ____.
A、not right for children B、tiring but pays well C、better than other jobs D、more interesting to girls
(5)、According to the passage, which is true?
A、If you are 17 years old, you're not allowed to walk the dog for your neighbour. B、Teenagers can choose their jobs according to their interest. C、Fruit picking pays well because there are fewer people to do it. D、Only a football fan is allowed to work in a football club.

English playwright Arthur Wing Pinero said,"Where there's tea, there's hope." Similarly, a Chinese saying goesthat "Firewood, rice, cooking oil, salt, sauce, vinegar and tea are theseven necessities to begin a day."

Tea is, without doubt, welcomed all overthe world. According to Statista, a German website for statistics (数据), global tea production reached about 5.8million tons in 2018. It has become the most consumed beverage (饮品) in the world – after water, of course.

According to the UN, tea is much more thanjust a hot drink. It's a big part of many cultures around the world. Youprobably know that people in China use top-grade tea to show respect whenreceiving important guests. Meanwhile, the British tradition of afternoon teais an important part of that country's identity. Making Malaysia's pulled teahas become a sort of art form, where drinkers take pride in its entertainmentaspects.

Apart from its cultural significance (意义), tea is also a medicine, used from ancienttimes to modern day. "Tea is cold and lowers the fire," Chinese MingDynasty herbalist Li Shizhen once said. The health benefits of tea are stillbeing discovered today: preventing heart disease, obesity and cancer have allbeen linked to drinking green tea, according to the National Center forBiotechnology Information in the US.

Hot or cold, bagged or loose-leaf,teais more than a drink– it's a social custom and also a magic medicine, alink to the past and a way of life.

What comes to mind when you hear the phrase "space meat"? It sounds quite weird. But in fact it could be the future of the human diet.

A Russian astronaut recently "grew" meat aboard the International Space Station . Yes, you read that right- he grew it using cells (细胞) provided by an Israeli company called Aleph Farms. But in fact, he was not the first person to create lab-grown (实验室培育的) meat. Dutch scientist Mark Post grew the first lab meat in 2013.

But why bother growing meat in a lab when we can get the real thing from cows? For one thing, lab-grown meat is healthier. "We gain greater control over what the meat consist of such as its fat content (脂肪含量)." Mark Post said in an interview. Lab- grown meat is also free of the chemicals that are used on farms, such as pesticides (农药) and growth hormones (激素).

Are there other ways to replace regular meat? McDonald is trying to do so with the P.L.T. which stands for plant, lettuce (生菜) and tomato. The first P.L.T. burgers are already being sold in Canada according to the fast food company.

The "meat" in the P.L.T. is made out of Beyond Meats plant-based meat substitute (替代品) created by a company from Los Angels, US. The company uses pea, rice and bean proteins (蛋白质) to produce patties (肉饼) that look and taste like real meat.

Experts doubt whether products are halthier than real meat. But plant-based meat has already proven to be a success with several fast food companies already offering such products on their menus, according to Fox Business.
