Many people go back to work in big cities at the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(开头) of the new year. They want to live in cities because of these {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(优势).

First of all, you can go shopping for almost everything in shops or online. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(百) of people shop in supermarkets every day. There you can buy {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(新鲜的) fruit and vegetables. Many people like {#blank#}5{#/blank#}( 比较) the prices before buying something. Some shops are {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(开着的) for the whole day. If you buy something online, you {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(收到) it in just a few days. Second, in big cities, students can have more interesting lessons each term. They have a better chance of getting good {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(分数) than students in the countryside. Besides, it's easy to get {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(到处) in big cities. That's because people can take the underground to someplaces that are far away. And it is usually {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(便宜的).

So where do you like to live, in big cities or in the countryside?

Today is July 21. Most people are enjoying their weekend now. John is watching a magic show at the Capital Stadium with his parents and a friend from Australia. 

The girl is Megan, she is staying at John's for her holiday now. Her parents and brother Andy are now visiting the zoo. Their father is taking photos of many animals, like elephants, pandas, zebras and tigers. But Andy likes monkeys most and he is now watching them jumping and playing. 

Andy's cousin Julia is at her friend's birthday party. There she meets Lily, Daming, Joy and Lingling. They are having a happy talk and drinking some juice. Julia's grandparents are having a Taijiquan class, while her mother is shopping for presents. Julia's family is going back home to the Unite States next Thursday, so her father is booking plane ticket on the Internet. 

There are some very good inventions which, for one reason or another, don't become popular. These inventions should be better known, even though I think that some of them are crazy. Let's have a look at some of these inventions and see if you agree that they should be more successful. 

The Australians had a great idea to stop people from drinking and driving. The idea was that if a driver wanted to start the car, she or he would have to blow into a bag first. If there was too much alcohol(酒精) in their breath, the car wouldn't start. It sounded like a great idea to me, but people said that they might need to drive the car in an emergency even if they had drunk too much alcohol. Another idea I liked was an invention by a scientist who thought his children watched too much TV. He linked the TV to an exercise bike so that the electricity to power the TV was generated(产出) by the bike. If the children wanted to watch a lot of TV, they had to pedal(踩踏板) very hard. I found another invention on the Internet which was intended (倾向于) to encourage good habits. Believe it or not, this invention was an ashtray(烟灰缸) which spoke to you when you lit a cigarette! The "voice" of the ashtray was activated (启动) by the heat from the cigarette and reminded you how dangerous it is to smoke. 

One of the strangest inventions I have come across is a bicycle which can cross rivers! The idea was that when you came to a river, you could inflate a huge plastic ball all around the bike. You would then get into the ball which would float on the river while you pedaled the bike inside the ball! Why not use a bridge instead? A friend of mine at school once bought a strange pair of football shoes. On the bottom of the shoes there was a rotating pad of studs (转动钉垫). The idea was that you would change direction more quickly if the studs rotated with you. The problem was that every time you stopped you changed direction whether you wanted to or not! I think he wore those shoes twice! One thing I would like is a baseball cap with a built-in radio so you can listen to sport all day with your hands free. While we are on the subject of sport, the Americans invented a kind of robot for sports fans. If you were watching your team on TV on your own, you could press a button and the robot would do "high fives" with you! Fantastic! I wonder if you have any good ideas for inventions like these. 

My son is Tommy. He is1 8-year-old boy. He likes playing soccer very 2 . Now, he is playing on the football field. Five minutes before the game stops, the score is 2:1. My3 class will win soon. Everyone is excited. Time goes quickly, and there 4 little time to go. Just then, the ball comes to Mike, a classmate of Tommy's. Mike gets the ball and says, "Let me 5 ." To everyone's surprise, the ball goes6 the wrong goal (球门). The game is over with a score of 2:2. But Mike shouts, "I score! Everybody wins!"7 face is full of joy. He is very8 .

Mike has Down's Syndrome (唐氏综合征) and he doesn't know it's a wrong goal. He9 getting the ball into any goal. He just likes it. I am glad to see my son smile to Mike10 say to him, "Good job, Mike!"

That night, when my daughter asks who wins the game, my son smiles and answers, "Everybody wins!"

It's true that three-roommates from the US had an amazing discovery(发现). They paid $20 for a sofa from a store. 

One night, they were sitting on the sofa and felt something must be in the sofa. Mr Werkhoven opened one part of the sofa and found an envelope(信封)with around $ 4, 000 in it. The roommates started opening other parts of the sofa, and kept finding more envelopes. At last they found over S 40, 000 in the sofa. 

At first, the roommates said that they were very excited. They said they even started to talk about how to spend the-money. But then the roommates found a phone number on one of the envelopes. The next day, they called the person to say what they had found. 

The owner was a 91-year-old lady. She put the money in the sofa. However, her family did not know about the money and gave the sofa away. 

The roommates drove to the woman's house to return the money. When they gave the money back, the old woman cried and gave the three roommates $ 1, 000 to express thanks. Miss Guasti said that they thought about keeping the money at first, but they knew that they would have felt wrong to use it,
