One weekend when I was about six years old, my family and I went to Disneyland and had a wonderful day full of excitement. I didn't know that the real excitement didn't begin until that night.

While we were watching the fireworks, I started to get an urge to go to the bathroom, but I didn't want to miss the show. I overheard a conversation between my sister Isabel and my mother, and I approached them to hear what they were saying.

"Mom, I'm going to the bathroom with Lizette, okay?" said Isabel.

"Okay," my mom replied, "but stay together. I don't want any of you to get lost."

The second I saw my sisters leaving, I didn't think twice before running after them — without telling my parents. As I followed them through the huge crowd of people, I started to lose sight of them. I began to panic as I scanned the crowd for them. Crazy thoughts ran through my head like "What if I never see my family again?"

I gave up trying to find my sisters and tried to get back to my family, but I was completely mixed up. After searching for what seemed like forever, I couldn't hold back my tears, and I started crying like I had never cried before.

"Mommy!" I cried out. But everyone around me was too caught up by the fireworks to pay any attention to me.

I tried to stop the scary thoughts that were going through my head and started running as fast as I could ... anywhere ... every where. I was going crazy. "I'm only six, and I've gotten lost. What have I done? How could I have been so dumb to run off without telling anyone?" I thought.

With my face wet from tears, I kept running, pulling at people's pants and crying, "Mommy!" I was hoping that one of these adults would be one of my parents.

'Usual boring day!' This would be the answer from Roman if somebody asked him how his day was. These days he found everything boring, nothing excited him.

One day he was lying in his room as usual. Suddenly light went off. His room was rather hot without an air conditioner. Though he did not want to leave his room, he had to. Unwillingly, he left his room and came to living room. Living room was slightly cool as it had two huge windows.

His young brother was playing with his friend. They were rolling on the floor. He was looking out for the TV remote, but couldn't find. He got up and searched it everywhere, but remote was nowhere. He looked at his brother who was still lying on the floor playing.

He asked him, "Where is the remote?" "Under the Sofa," his brother yelled.

He tried to look through, but it was dark. He put his hand under the sofa. He touched something, grabbed it and took his hand out. OMG! It was a snake in his hand!

After seeing that his brother started to yell," Snake, snake!" Mom came as soon as she heard their shouting. She too was horrified to see a snake. She was so scared that she even couldn't speak a word. Two kids were trying to hide into each other's back. "What an old trick!" Roman thought and threw it over kids.

As the snake landed on the floor near to the kids, it started moving from left side to the right. Only then did Roman realize that the snake was real, not a toy. He threw the snake over kids because he thought it was a fake snake and kids were playing some tricks.

This time mom almost got heart attack. Now he was scared too. The snake was only 10 meters away from kids and was staring at kids. They even couldn't call a rescue team. There might be some deadly damage before their arrival. There was not much time to think. It was the time for a quick action.

Paragraph 1:

As Roman was farther from the snake, he jumped to the window and grabbed the curtain.

Paragraph 2:

After the rescue team caught and took the snake away, everyone went inside the home.

As Valentine's Day, a time for expressing affection through the exchange of presents, drew near, Kendra found herself seated at the kitchen table, carefully penning her name on Valentine's cards for her classmates. She recognized her own hesitation; words didn't come easily to her. While she envied the ease with which her peers talked and laughed, her shyness often kept her quiet.

Kendra grabbed another card. Her eyes lit up at the phrase "You're dynamite (引起轰动的人或物)!" — a term that would undoubtedly delight her Grammy, who frequently used the expression to praise their festive decorations. "Well, that looks dynamite!" Grammy would exclaim, her approval filling Kendra with warmth.

Just as Kendra was signing the cards, her mother came in, sharing the sad news of Elise, their neighbor, and her recent accident that led to a broken leg, restricting her to home schooling for the coming weeks. Kendra felt sorry for Elise, and quickly picked the most splendid valentine, hurrying to Elise's home.

Upon arrival, Kendra's look fell upon the life-sized deer statue decorating the front yard. She studied it, saying to herself, "Wouldn't this deer look cool with a big heart around his neck? Elise could look out of the window and see it decorated for Valentine's day."

With this idea, Kendra got the sizable red heart her Grammy had given her, tied it with string, and hung it around the statue's neck like a festive chain. The next day, she decorated the antlers (鹿角) with a variety of smaller hearts. It was during this act of kindness that Colin and Amy, Elise's fellow classmates, happened upon the scene. "Are you decorating Elise's deer for Valentine's Day?" they asked. Kendra confirmed with a nod, explaining her intention to cheer up Elise. Despite her uncertainty about what to add next, Colin proposed adding some color, while Amy suggested putting decorations on the deer's back and forehead. United by a shared purpose, they agreed to meet later.

Paragraph 1: That afternoon, they met to decorate the deer with the materials they had sourced.

Paragraph 2: Just then, Elise's front door opened, and Elise stuck her head out.
