If Jane had her own way, she would never eat anything but junk food. Her favourite meal is a burger in a bun with a large helping of fries. She is also very fond of pizzas. She likes them best when they have a thin crust(面包皮) at the bottom and plenty of cheese and tomato on the top. "When I grow up," she says, "I will never do any cooking myself. I will buy takeaway meals and eat them at home."

Jane's mother tries to make her eat more healthy food. She gives her some salad with her burger, but Jane just eats the tomato and leaves the vegetables and other things. She sometimes wishes that Jane would become a vegetarian(素食主义者), like her friend Beth. Then she would have to eat more fruit and vegetables. But now she just wishes Jane would just cut out the burgers and live on pizzas instead!

Mr. Grey worked in an office. Every morning he had{#blank#}1{#/blank#} with his wife at 7:30, read hisnewspaper,drank a cup of coffee and{#blank#}2{#/blank#} left his house at 8:00o go to catch his train to town.

One morning he was still sitting comfortably at the{#blank#}3{#/blank#}and reading a newspaper at 8:05.He didn't seem to be in a hurry and asked his wife for{#blank#}4{#/blank#}cup of coffee.

"Aren't you going to the office today? Have you got a holiday "asked his wife. "Theoffice"The office?" he looked up from his newspaper, very surprised, "l thought I was athe office."

Jim is a boy in China. He has some pen friends around the world. He like writing to and receiving their letters in return. He started writing to his first pen-friend, Thomas Wright from America when he was 10 years old. They have been writing to each other tor 2 years now.

Jim also has five other pen friends.They are from Japan,Korea,Thailand,Australia and Canada. He got their names and addresses from various sources: the International Pen Friend Clu the Look and Learn magazines and newspapers.

Jim enjoys writing to people from other countries because he finds it interesting to learn more about those countries and the different cultures and customs. He hopes to visit his pen friends some day. In the meantime, he will continue writing to them and enjoying their friendship. He will also try to look for pen friends from other countries.

Needless to say(不用说), all the letters of Jim and his friends are written in English-the international language.
