Friends are important in our lives. But not all of friends stand the test of time. We spoke about friendships with Marisa Franco, writer of the book How Can You MakeAnd Keep Friends.
Accept changes in life
Things just keep coming and going. Franco said: "Nobody really wants the friendship to end, but people get busy and can't keep the friendship any more." It doesn't mean we are not qualified (合格的) friends. Instead, it makes us value what we have at present.
"When being with friends, the relationship will get worse if you keep leaving something unsaid instead of communicating with each other positively (积极地)." Franco said. We might be afraid of having arguments. But if we think about it and talk in peace, it can be a sign that you care enough to fix the friendship.
Allow yourself to feel sad
Normally, when a friendship ends, there is a process of feeling sad. Allow yourself to feel those emotions and be patient with yourself. The way society views friendships may make your sadness last longer. When a friendship ends, you are questioned, "Sorry for your loss, but why are you still in a bad mood?" Then you think "Is it wrong to feel sad?" Of course, you are upset, which means you love your friend deeply. "And you can't put a timeline on your sadness. Sadness is just a process of feeling emotion over time." Franco said.
Be kind to yourself along the way
It's important to forgive (原谅) yourself for not getting over the loss of a friendship. But don't go into a new friendship feeling afraid. "Your understanding of friendship in your brain isn't just colored by this one experience." Franco said.
A.Make the unsaid said. B.Losing friends is a part of life. C.Solve problems as quickly as possible. D.One way to make you feel better again is to make new friends. E.Come on, you lost someone you are close to. F. Here are four tips to remember if you're losing a friend. |
We are often educated to have the courage, but we also need to understand "fear" correctly. "Fear" also has the meaning of "awe (敬畏)". If a person has no respect (尊敬) or awe, it will surely bring trouble to the family, to the society and the country. So, how should we do?
Fear life. Life is the only one. The fear of life will make us value life more. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}
{#blank#}2{#/blank#} If we don't respect nature, nature will punish us in turn. All kinds of natural disasters (灾害) will come one after another, making us helpless in front of nature. We should learn scientific knowledge and skills to avoid some dangers.
Fear your parents. Know how to respect parents and thanks for their efforts. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}
Fear the law. No rules, no standards. Follow the order, rules of the society, schools and public places. Know the law and understand the law. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Whoever breaks the law can't run away from punishment.
Fear knowledge. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} We will keep on progressing, have the awe of teachers, and accept their teaching and education with pleasure.

A. Breathing the air in the city makes you more active. B. Others usually have to wait for the next vacation. C. Being by the sea is also good for our physical health. D. Naturally we often feel so great at the end of a seaside holiday. E. The sound of them can help us relax and feel free from stress. F. And if you take your walks on the beach, this is a lot better. |
We all love spending time by the sea. Some lucky ones might live on the coast and enjoy the benefits all around the year. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}Most of us would say we feel healthier by the ocean. In the past, doctors would actually suggest spending time by the sea to their patients. And research has shown that people who live on the coast are more likely to believe their health is good compared to those living in a city. So how do we benefit, exactly?
Well, to start with, it's great for our mental health. Scientists have discovered that we have something called a blue mind. They have shown that watching, listening to the waves or being in the ocean helps our brains slow down. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}This is why people who have trouble sleeping are often told to listen to recordings of the sound of waves hitting the beach to help them relax at bedtime.
{#blank#}3{#/blank#}We go out a lot more when we' re on holiday by the sea. We often become more active on holidays and people who live on the coast are usually more active too. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Walking on sand requires more effort than on the pavement. And the sea air is good for people with breathing problems too. There is less pollution in the air near the ocean and in autumn and winter the air is fresher. This is healthier than the dry air in homes with central heating. It has even been found that the chemicals in sea water may help us have healthy skin.
{#blank#}5{#/blank#}We look forward so much to having our next one!
