Ieoh Ming Pei was a Chinese-American architect（建筑师）. He was born {#blank#}1{#/blank#} April 26, 1917, in Guangzhou, China. And he {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(die) in 2019. However, he will be remembered by people all over {#blank#}3{#/blank#} world.

From an early age, Ieoh Ming Pei had great {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(interesting) in architecture. Pei moved to the United States when he was 17 years old. Then, he went to MIT and studied architecture there. In 1940, he {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(successful) got a bachelor's degree（学士学位）in architecture at MIT.

After {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(finish) his studies in MIT, Pei continued his studies at Harvard Graduate School of Design. During World War II, Pei took a break from his education. In 1944, he returned to Harvard {#blank#}7{#/blank#} got his master's degree（硕士学位）in architecture two years later. In 1955, Pei set up {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(he) own company, I.M.Pei & Associates. One of his {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(one) major projects（项目）was the Mile High Center in Denver, Colorado.

Ieoh Ming Pei was easy-going and he never wanted {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (show) off. However, most people thought he was a great teacher of modern architecture. In 1983, he was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize for his contributions to his field.

In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping offered to build a Silk Road Economic Belt (经济带) and a 21st Century Maritime (海上) Silk Road, which became known as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI, "一带一路"倡议). The BRI has brought cultures together for over ten years. As the BRI continues to bring the world together, young people from the Belt and Road countries can see how it continues to develop and have a deeper understanding of it. We did a survey of 125 Chinese students. The following survey is about BRI in the eyes of the students. The diagrams (图表) below show the results.

Before you post a comment online, stop and think. Is it positive (积极的)? How will your words make someone feel? {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Never post nasty messages.

Be careful

{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Remember that people online are not always who they say they are. Never open emails from strangers, click on strange links or download apps without asking an adult. They could contain viruses. If you' re not sure, ask your parents or teacher!

Spending time and learning online can be great if we' re good digital citizens. So, be safe, be responsible and have fun!
