Sue Coppard grew up in the countryside. As a child, her dream was to go to the outside world. In fact, she achieved her dream. In 1971, Sue Coppard worked as a secretary(秘书) in London. When she enjoyed the city life, Sue also missed the countryside where she spent most of her time as a child. She thought the countryside was a great place to play and grow. So she offered to help out on an organic (有机的)farming program organized (组织) by a college.

Sue put a small ad(广告) in a magazine, offering people the chance (机会) to volunteer at the organic farm. The volunteer program grew quickly. Soon other organic farmers participated, asking for people to help out.

With so many people and farms joining, Sue started World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) to help volunteers and farmers find one another. In order to interest more volunteers, Sue made WWOOF not only a weekend activity, but also a place for travelers and people who hoped to live and work on farms for a longer time. She worked very hard there, but she felt happy. She said, "The work can be tiring, but volunteers think it's enjoyable."

By working on farms, the volunteers communicate(交流) with the farmers and begin to love the outdoors and organic farming.

Volunteering is something that anyone can do in their free time, So the next time you want to be busy on the weekend or on vacation, why not look for a good reason to spend your energy on it? I think it is a fantastic way to enjoy your free time.

One day, we were told that we would have a school trip at the end of the month. The whole class got very excited and the girls began to discuss what to wear and what to bring with them. But Danny simply told everyone he wouldn't go. 

"Don't you like it, Danny?" our teacher Mr. Smith asked with kindness. 

Danny stood up and said, "It's too much money for me. My dad is ill in bed. My mom works in a supermarket every day. I will not ask them for money."

Then Mr. Smith asked us to come up with some good ideas to raise money for the trip by ourselves. We all thought it was really meaningful, and it would be a different and valuable learning experience for everyone.

We celebrate many festivals in a year. And I'd like to share with you one of my unforgettable experiences during 

I will never forget my first English class. It is very interesting. It's the first class in the morning. The teacher goes into the classroom with a smile on his face. At the beginning，he makes a self-introduction（自我介绍）. And he tells us that his English name is John. Then he asks all of us to think of English names for ourselves. We are very excited to find a good name. Then he asks us to write our names down on a piece of paper. I think about my English name for a long time. Then I come up with（想出）a beautiful name — Shirley.

All the students write their names down and give the paper to the teacher. When the teacher calls "Shirley" to answer his question, three girls stand up at the same time.
