Look! This is our classroom. It is very big. It has big windows. We're having an English class. There are 22 girls and 28 boys in our class. Everyone has a desk and a chair. They are all new. We look after them very well. In our classroom there are two blackboards. One is for the teachers and the other is for students. The walls look very white. On them we can see some nice pictures and two maps, the map of China and the map of the world(世界).

In the morning, the students come to school very early, and the teachers come to school early, too. We have four lessons in the morning and two in the afternoon. We like our lessons very much. We like our class and our classroom. We also love our teachers.

Leeks are so common that you have probably never thought much about them. They grow easily in our gardens and don't look very special, but that doesn't mean they are not interesting! Leeks belong to the Allium family of vegetables, which also includes onions. Like onions and other members of the Allium family, leeks are a kind of vegetable with white soft parts and leafy green tops. The bulb(鳞茎), however, is not round, but just slightly larger than the stem nearest the roots. The more rounded the bulb, the older the leek. Leeks are usually about 30 cm long, but they can grow much bigger. Do you know growing leeks can win you a prize? Some gardeners grow big leeks and hold competitions to find the biggest type of leek. The heaviest leek ever weighed more than 8 kg. 

People have been eating leeks for thousands of years. The Ancient Roman Emperor Nero ordered his cooks to serve him leeks every day, as he believed they would improve his singing voice! People in Wales loved leeks so much that they made them their national symbol. As the story goes, about 400 years ago, Welsh soldiers were fighting in a war. They put leeks in their hats so that they could tell their friends from their enemies. 

Leeks are especially loved by cooks all over the world, as they give flavor(味道) to lots of dishes. Leeks taste a bit like onions, but their flavor is much weaker. They taste especially good in soups. In France, a leek and potato soup is eaten cold. Leeks go well with meat. 

So now we know that leeks are delicious, but are they good for you? Yes! Leeks are full of iron(铁). Experts now believe that eating leeks and other members of the Allium family can also help people keep their blood pressure under control and their hearts healthy. 

Recently videos of a man dancing have become popular online. He is Ma Jiaolong, a Chinese dancer. Ma has nearly 5 million followers on Douyin, a short﹣ video platform（平台）in China. "I was surprised because I didn't think that the videos would go viral. " says the 35﹣year﹣old dancer. 

Ma began teaching Chinese classical （古典的） dance at Goldsmiths, University of London, three years ago. He started making videos when his teaching job was affected（受影响） by COVID﹣19. Like many other teachers, Ma had to give online classes. Besides teaching, he trained at home for at least two hours a day. However, Ma couldn't make big moves because his home was small. One day, Ma and his wife went to a supermarket and passed Greenwich Park. Ma's wife said to him, "Why not do some dance moves here that you couldn't do at home？" Then Ma jumped off the ground and did a dance move, which was filmed by his wife on her phone. 

"Back home, I sent the video to my friends. To my surprise, they loved it and I decided to share it online, " says Ma. Later, he made more short videos and put them online. 

After Ma's videos got popular, he got lots of messages from people around the world. "Now, making and sharing short videos has become a part of my life. Most importantly, it's a great way to show Chinese classical dance to more people. " says Ma. "It's always been my dream to offer people worldwide a chance to understand traditional Chinese culture. " Ma says. 

My parents always told me that I couldn't dance, because it was a girl's sport. But I never gave up my 1  of becoming a dancing star. I practised secretly, learning from books, movies, and shows. However, without my parents' support, that dream seemed impossible to reach. 

One summer, my little sister Maggie was going to dance lessons. I immediately asked 2  parents for permission(允许) to take her to the lessons. What a 3  chance to learn dancing!

One afternoon, I was practising a new dance in my room when Maggie walked 4 . 

"What's the matter, Maggie?"I stopped 5 . 

"Denis, you are a great dancer! Can you help me?"

"What is it?"I wondered. 

"There'll be a dancing performance in my school, 6  the boys think I'm slow, and non e of them wants to be my partner. 7  you dance with me for it?" She looked at me anxiously. 

"You can be a good dancer!"I encouraged her. "Let's show those people that they have been 8  for months. " We 9  every evening, hiding from my parents. I was having a fantastic time and 10  Maggie improved a lot. 

Finally came the big day. I became 11  when I heard my parents would come to watch the performance. As the 12  began, I took a deep breath and tried to calm down. We moved perfectly, shining with pride. From the cheering of the crowd, I was sure our dance was a big 13 . 

My heart was beating wildly when I saw my 14  coming towards me. He put his hand on my shoulder, "Well done, son. Though it is hard for me to admit it, you really looked like you belonged to this stage(舞台). Go for it and make us proud. "

I'd been 15  this moment for so long. I knew that the road ahead wasn't going to be easy, but I wouldn't give up. I wanted nothing more in life than to dance. 

The Greens like shopping on the Internet. They all think it's easy and fun to shop on the Internet.

Mr. Green likes reading books. He usually buys new books on the Internet. But sometimes he is too busy and has no time to look for books he wants. So his daughter Lucy often helps him to buy books.

Mrs. Green likes beautiful clothes. She always watches new skirts or dresses in clothes shops first and then buys some of them on the Internet. Of course, they are cheap. But sometimes she is upset because many other women wear the same clothes as her!

Lucy likes listening to music. She often buys CDs on the Internet. They are usually cheap. But the only problem(问题) is that some CDs sound(听起来) a little bad.

Eric buys many things on the Internet, from school things to toys. Sometimes his parents think he always spends too much money on shopping!

I'd like to say something about our science teacher, Mr. Wang. He always wears a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(帽子) when he comes to class. He {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(介绍) us to the amazing world of {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(/baI'ɒlədʒI/) in a way that makes it fun to learn. When he first started teaching us, I felt a bit {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(紧张), but he quickly put me at ease with his kind smile and friendly words. 

 During class, Mr. Wang explains everything clearly. He often asks us to work in groups so that we can learn and talk about our ideas {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(/tə'geðə/). Sometimes we make{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(错误), but he never gets angry. Instead, he helps us understand and learn from them. 

 At the end of each lesson, Mr. Wang often asks us to share some {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(主意) about what we' ve learned. He says it's {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(/Im'pɔ: tnt/) to take notes down . What's more, {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(记住) the key information we' ve learned. Next week, we' re going to have a test on this subject, and I'm planning to review it {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(通过) the textbook with my classmates.
