plant rice successfully(成功地). After that, he went to Burundi(布隆迪) in 2015.There is not much food in Burundi. As an agricultural expert, Yang Huade quickly finds Bu-rundi has a lot of rain   and sun. And the rice just needs sun and water to grow. He works very hard and plants hybrid rice(杂交水稻) in Burundi.

Yang Huade makes effortsto help people in Burundi. He shares nice skills with people there. It takes him eight years to make people get lots of rice successfully. The rice in Burundi is 

very good now. Yang Huade gives Burundi food and conveys China-Africa friendship(传递中非情谊). Yang Huade is 60 years old in 2024. But he is going to Burundi for the fourth time. He is   so great!

Many parents believe that students wearing school uniforms look nicer. Children come to school in school uniforms rather than their own clothes so that they can pay more attention（关注） to their s{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Jim is a boy in China. He has some pen friends around the world. He like writing to and receiving their letters in return. He started writing to his first pen-friend, Thomas Wright from America when he was 10 years old. They have been writing to each other tor 2 years now.

Jim also has five other pen friends.They are from Japan,Korea,Thailand,Australia and Canada. He got their names and addresses from various sources: the International Pen Friend Clu the Look and Learn magazines and newspapers.

Jim enjoys writing to people from other countries because he finds it interesting to learn more about those countries and the different cultures and customs. He hopes to visit his pen friends some day. In the meantime, he will continue writing to them and enjoying their friendship. He will also try to look for pen friends from other countries.

Needless to say(不用说), all the letters of Jim and his friends are written in English-the international language.

Winter Olympics and China

The first Winter Olympics were held in Paris in 1924.

In 1980，Chinese athletes took part for the first time in the Winter Olympics.At the 1992 Winter Olympics，Chinese athletes won medals for the first time.Ye Qiaobo won two silver medals.At the same Olympics，Li Yan won a silver medal in the short track speed skating race.The United States held the 19th Winter Olympics in 2002.Chinese athlete Yang Yang won a gold medal.This was the first gold medal won in Winter Games in Chinese history.In the 2014 Winter Olympics，China won three gold medals，four silver medals，and two bronze medals.

The 24th Olympic Winter Games were held in Beijing and Zhangjiakou in 2022.Beijing became the first city in the world to have hosted both the summer and winter editions of the Olympic Games.Chinese athletes won nine gold medals.

I learn how to make dough sculptures(面塑). This is very interesting. And it is one of the China's national intangible cultural heritages(国家非物质文化遗产). We canmake different things with soft dough(柔软的面团), such as animals and people we   like.My dough sculpture is my puppy Buddy. Buddy is small and cute. He's only one year old. He has two big black eyes. His body is yellow and white. Buddy is not quiet. He's active. He likes playing with a ball. Buddy is friendly, too. My family and friends all like him. Buddy is really my good friend.
