Yuan Longping is a great scientist. He does research(研究) on the farm. And he works with farmers. He often goes to work by bike.

He tries to find a way to plant more rice. Finally, he and his students plant a new kind of rice. Farmers can plant it in many different kinds of fields(田地) or in bad weather. This helps a lot of people have food to eat.

Yuan Longping talks about his dream and says, "I have a dream. I can enjoy the cool under the rice." He keeps realizing his dream. He works for the Chinese, and even for the people of the world. He is a hero in everyone's heart.

An old man was walking in a street with his horse. It was raining hard. The old man was cold because he was walking in the rain. He wanted to go to a restaurant. It was a quarter past three in the afternoon. The old man got to a small restaurant. There were lots of people in it. The old man couldn't come near the fire. He thought and thought. At last he said to the waiters, "Take some fish to my horse." The waiter and the people were very surprised. The waiter said, "A horse doesn't eat fish." The old man told the waiter, "This horse is very interesting. It can sing, dance and do all kinds of things. It can eat fish, too," So the waiter brought the horse some fish.
       All the people in the restaurant ran out to see the horse eat except the old man. Now the old man sat beside the fire. After a while the waiter came back and said, "Your horse didn't eat any fish." The old man said, "All right, take the fish back and put it on the table. I'll eat it."

Tom is from Munich. He's a pupil. He usually goes to school by subway. The subway is fast,but there are always too many people in it. Tom must get up early in the morning. Tom likes films. After school, he often goes to the cinema.And he goes home by bus. He really doesn't like the subway. Tom's father is a science teacher in the same school. He goes to work early and goes home late. So they don't go together. He goes to work by car. Sometimes there is a traffic jam(堵车) on the way and he is late for work.

Alice is my good friend. She can't go to school today. What's wrong with her? She is ill. Yesterday（昨天）it was cold and rainy. She didn't take her umbrella and got wet. At night she felt very cold. Her mother took her temperature（量体温）and it was 38.5 degrees. She is very sad. I think she should see a doctor, drink more water and wear warm clothes. I hope she gets well soon and goes to school.
