Elephants are very large animals. They eat only plants. Baby elephants drink milk from their mother up to three years. Elephants like to live in groups. Some stay with their family even when they grow up. A family group has two to eight animals. Elephants are very big and heavy, but they are very good swimmers. They are very strong, too. They can do many things with their long trunks (象鼻), and they are helpful.

In the past, there were many elephants, but now there are fewer and fewer (越来越少). People hunt them for their tusks. They use them to make ivory products (象牙制品). In Thailand, people use elephants to carry heavy things, and they also train (训练) them for a show. Many elephants hurt badly or die because of the training. In 2003, there were only about 30, 000 Asian elephants in the world. To protect elephants, we shouldn't buy ivory products. We shouldn't watch elephant shows.

 One day, five people were waiting for an interview in a room of a company. They couldn't use the phone or the Internet inside the room, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} could do whatever they liked.

 On the first day,  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} of the five people were excited. They were talking about their bright future loudly. Until five o' clock in the afternoon,  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} was no interview.

 On the  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} morning, they arrived earlier. Still no news came. By mid-day, most of them were angry. Some thought the company did not care for them. Some regretted coming here. Only one man was {#blank#}7{#/blank#} from others. He was happy all those days. He kept smiling while the others complained(抱怨). At the end of that day, the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} appeared. He said that their interview had ended and only the happy man was chosen. They asked the boss {#blank#}9{#/blank#} he decided to choose the man. The boss {#blank#}10{#/blank#} , "We want someone that can keep happy in whatever situations. Keeping happy is an ability."

 We can't control everything, but at least we can find something that makes us happy every day even if we' re in trouble.
