Porter's dad's best friend, Mark Bistline, loved to eat his carrot cake. When he was sick in hospital, Porter tried to help in any way possible, including baking him his favorite dessert. One of Mark's (nurse) tried a piece of the cake and told Porter that he should sell it. Then Porter started a business called Nothing But Carrot Cake. He first made around 200 cakes.
