Fred: I spend time on the Internet and buy many things online. I don't need to go out and wait for a long time. Also, I can always get the best things online. 

Dennis: I like shopping online a lot. I love to buy things on the Internet because people can send the products to me in a few days after I click the mouse on what I want. 

Anthea: Shopping online is a good way for us young people. We can save lots of time. When we buy anything online, we can compare different prices and features at the same time. 

Elihu: l like spending time going here and there in different shops and meeting different people, so I do very little online shopping. 

Harriet: 1 especially like shopping online, because it's much easier to choose my favourite things. Now I also have an online store called Millen to sell clothes. 

Do you know how many kinds of plants and animals there are in the world？ Maybe one million（百万）？Two million？ No，not even close! Scientists think there are between eight and fourteen million kinds of plants and animals, but we only know about 1. 8million now. They are slowly finding new kinds all the time, and that's good news for us. 

In 2009, a group of scientists went to the rainforest to search for new kinds of animals. They had to walk silently and looked really carefully. They found a tiny frog（青蛙）that is smaller than the end of your smallest finger! They found another frog, too. That looks like it is made of glass. The scientists also found seven new kinds of grasshoppers（蚱蜢）. Some of the are very beautiful. 

Scientists tell us that frogs and insects（昆虫）are very important. They help to keep our environment clean. We can also use them to make new medicines. Researchers all over the world are working very hard to find new plants and animals every day. But their jobs are getting harder, because forests where these animals live are quickly disappearing（消失）and the animals are，too. 

Hong Kong has forty public beaches(海滩). Some of the beaches are among the best in the world. People can go there for a swim. You can go to most of them by bus. To go to some beaches you must take a boat. There are toilets, changing rooms and places to buy food and drink on most of the beaches.

You will swim there without danger if you remember these instructions(提示):

1.Never swim alone. 

2. Never swim after a meal or when you feel hungry or tired. 

3. Do not stay in the water too long. 

4. Never go out in a boat if you cannot swim.

Remember: A red flag (旗)means that it is dangerous for anybody to go into the water. A blue flag means that it is dangerous for children.

Different countries have different rules on doing business. When there is a chance for you to go abroad for a business purpose, it is best to be clear about the rules and customs. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

In Brazil

Brazilians are warm and friendly. They often stand close when talking and it is common for them to touch the person on the shoulder. People often greet each other (especially women) with light kisses.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Business meetings sometimes start later than planned. But to be safe, be on time. Meals can last for hours there's no such thing as rushing a meal in Brazil. Brazilians are social, preferring face-to-face communication to mails or phone calls.

In Singapore

Singaporeans shake hands when they meet and often also greet each other with a small, polite bow. Business cards should be offered and received with two hands. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} This is because arriving late is considered impolite.

In Switzerland

The Swiss call each other by their last name. They are also respectful of private lives. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

For example, asking about a lady's age or how much they make a month is seen impolite. Being on time is required. Arrive at any meeting or event a few minutes early to be safe. They al-so have clear structure in their companies. Higher-ups make the final decisions, even if others might disagree.
