I would like to talk about a useful tool. It has helped us  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  our work. Most of you have used it before. It's a small yellow piece of paper and it is  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}   all over the world. It's the Post-it® note. A Post-it® note is a piece of paper with special glue on the back. You can stick them  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  anything and the note will stay in place. The notes can be removed (撕下) {#blank#}4{#/blank#}   from any surface. Students like to use them  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  traditional notebooks in their daily lives.

Fudan University: free courses for high school students

Is Fudan your ideal university? Now your dream may come true in a different way. Most recently, Fudan University has started a new programme offering free courses and they are now 1 to first-year senior high school students. Students from other grades do not have the chance to participate now. The programme allows students to take weekend courses on its campus in 10 different subjects. They cover many 2 , including Maths, science, Chinese language and literature (文学). 

Besides, students will share the university's 3 like its libraries and on-campus activities during their courses. They will be able to earn credits (学分) from the programme if they are admitted into Fudan University in the future. 

The new programme aims to further bridge the gap between higher education and compulsory education (义务教育). It may 4 develop high school students' all-around abilities and help them to discover what they are really interested in, the university says. 

To high school students, the chance to experience college-level work is so precious that it enables them to decide which job they should 5 in the future. 

The programme has attracted a lot of students and produced a good social response since 2014. Many students say they have gained a lot from the learning 6 and the experience will certainly encourage them to dream of hope.

It's not an easy thing to speak out how we really feel sometimes. An English teacher from Fremont, California thought of a creative * way to help her students express their feelings. 

Erin Castillo is a special education * teacher. She made a "mental health checklist(心理健康诉查表)"for her students. The checklist asks kids if they are "Great", "OK", "Meh", "Struggling(挣扎)" "Having a hard time" or "In a really dark place". Each student needs to write his name on the back of the paper and put it in the section describing how he is feeling. If he puts it in the "Struggling" section, he knows he should talk with friends or parents. If he is "Having a hard time" or "In a real dark place", Castillo will talk with him. Also, Castillo made a table for "Coffee Time" Students can sit it at the table and work quietly and independently *. They can listen to music, have a snack or enjoy some "me-time". "It is important for teachers to create a classroom where students feel safe to communicate with others, "Castillo said.

In spring, the weather starts to get warm.The wind b{#blank#}1{#/blank#} gently. It often rains. Plants start to grow. Everything turns green. It is exciting to take a t{#blank#}2{#/blank#} in spring.

Summer

The weather is hot in summer. The Sun s{#blank#}3{#/blank#} brightly. Many people like to go to the beach and swim in the sea. It is nice to eat ice cream in the hot weather.

Autumn

In autumn,everything changes. Leaves turn brown, red or yellow and start falling from the trees. It is nice to go on a p{#blank#}4{#/blank#} at this time of year because the weather is cool and dry.

Winter

Winter is often cold and s{#blank#}5{#/blank#}. Children love winter because they love to play in the snow. It is i{#blank#}6{#/blank#} to make snowmen. People usually spend time with their relatives during the Spring Festival.

I'm Ben from Moonlight Middle School. Peter is my best friend there. We 1 our school. Our favourite place is the 2 . We read books there every day. Peter also likes the playground. He loves 3 and he is a member of the school basketball team. 

Peter is a good student. He studies all the school lessons 4 . But I'm bad at maths. Peter often helps 5 with it. 

Peter likes 6 people. Today is the Open Day. Mamy 7 come to visit our school. Peter8 them at the school gate and takes them to the school hall to have the parents' meeting. After lunch, the parents watch a9 game. Peter is one of the players. 

Peter is so nice. I feel 10 to be his friend. 

August, a 10-year-old boy, lives with his parents and sister in New York. August is a common boy in many ways. He likes riding a bike and playing video games. But he was born with facial deformities (畸形) and so his face looks very different from others.

August's first year at school was difficult. Most people were afraid of him and stayed away from him. But he never gave up on himself and never lost hope.

Later, a girl named Summer reached out to him and wanted to be his friend. That was the first time he felt kindness from friends.

Then a surprising thing at a school camp changed everything. People found how brave he was and how hard it was for him to get along with others, and they began to understand him.

This is the story in Wonder. The book was written by R. J. Palacio. Kindness is its main theme (主题). From the book,I learn a lot: A small, simple act of kindness can make a big difference and we all are able to practise kindness.
