I used to be the shortest in my class. I had no friends and always felt 1 . On my 12th birthday, I made a 2 that I could grow up quickly.

Last summer vacation, I was so worried about my 3 that I didn't want to go to summer camp. But my mom said,"You will learn something 4 you get there."And I had to say yes.

5 Monday, my teacher Maggie asked all of us to climb a wall. When I saw the wall, I was so 6 . It might be ten meters high! I thought I could 7 climb that huge wall successfully.

After the other campers finished, I told Maggie I wanted to 8 climbing.

"Amy, when you meet 9 , just believe in yourself and never give up."said Maggie. Hearing this, I felt a little upset. Suddenly, I had a good 10 . I pretended (假装) to 11 my knee and couldn't move.

The little boy kept on digging and digging. Suddenly, a few small colorful stones caught his eyes.

The boy's goal was far too difficult, but it pushed him to7 . And that is what a goal is for—to push us to keep working!

Not every8 will be fully achieved. When you can't achieve your goal, maybe you can say, "Yes, but there are so many wonderful things that have come into my life 9 I have tried to do something!" It is the 10 joy on the journey that really has a true meaning. Just like the little boy, it is in the digging that life is lived.

Henry Leech was a good salesman. He sold lots of products. After a new kind of vacuum cleaner (真空吸尘器) was produced by his factory, he was sent to the countryside to sell it.

He drove out of town and stopped at a farmhouse. He knocked on the door and the farmer's wife opened it. Henry started into his speech immediately.

"Madam, how much time do you spend cleaning the floors?" "A lot of time. This is a farm and things get dirty quickly," said the woman.

"And how much time do you spend beating the carpets(地毯)?" asked Henry.

"A lot of time. My dog lays on them and it always makes a mess on the carpets."

"Well," said Henry, "this is your lucky day." Henry showed her his vacuum cleaner and said, "You can clean the house in 5 minutes with it."

The farmer's wife didn't look interested, but Henry still took out a big bag of dirt(尘土). He opened it and threw it all over the floor. The farmer's wife was very surprised. Before she could speak, Henry said, "Madam, if this machine doesn't pick up every last piece of dirt, I will eat all of it!"

The farmer's wife looked at Henry and said, "WELL, I WILL GET YOU A SPOON. WE HAVE NO ELECTRICITY(电)."

There is a farm. A boy is on the farm. His name is Bingo. Many animals are on the farm. They are five pigs, seven cows, ten chickens, four cats, three dogs, and five rabbits. Dogs can swim. They're white. Horses can run. Rabbits can jump. Where are the chickens? They are under the tree. What happened? A pig is stuck. 

 Three years ago, I started working at the University of Leeds and I was looking for things to do. I noticed that a community school was {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(提供) Chinese evening classes. I paid fora beginner class {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(没有) much thought. 

I had no plans to move to China. I just wanted to learn a new l{#blank#}3{#/blank#} , which is also a good chance for me to know more about Chinese culture and Chinese {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(传统习俗). I used to speak fluent English and Spanish. But I think there should be a huge difference between learning something new as a child and learning as an adult. 

I had Chinese lessons {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(严肃). There was only one lesson a week and each lasted 90 m{#blank#}6{#/blank#} . Mr. Kong, the teacher, was energetic. For each class, he would teach us what seemed   like hundreds of new words. After {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(数个) months, I got used to this. Through weekly classes, my mind would reorder and make sense of the chaos. 

 There are more than 6, 000 international students. It was not difficult to find Chinese students who want to {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(练习) English in exchange for Chinese. My new Chinese friends helped me go over everything I had learned in class. 

 Now I'd like to describe Chinese grammar as an easier one than that of English or Spanish. I am ready to overcome any difficulty and become fluent in Chinese. 

There are also some interesting school {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in October. On October 12th, we have a soccer game. I don't love basketball{#blank#}2{#/blank#} it's difficult for me. But I love soccer. I enjoy. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} soccer and watching soccer games. We have a book sale on October 20th. I have three old books and I want to sell{#blank#}4{#/blank#} . The art festival(节日) is fun. We have it on October 29th. My birthday is also on this day. October is {#blank#}5{#/blank#}a great month for me.
