Parents, especially those of teenagers, care about their children's education more than anything else. They would do    {#blank#}1{#/blank#} for their children. If they have no time or cannot do it themselves, they would hire family teachers {#blank#}3{#/blank#} send their children to after-class schools.     How can we explain the present situation? First of all, many parents have {#blank#}5{#/blank#} that future success depends more and more {#blank#}6{#/blank#} skills and education. Secondly, in a competitive(竞争的) society there are both losers and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. Those who have better skills and more knowledge will enjoy {#blank#}8{#/blank#} opportunities(机会).

    Certainly, it is important to learn to succeed, but the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} thing to learn is how to survive(生存) and how to be a qualified citizen(合格的公民). {#blank#}10{#/blank#} this is included a good education, the children will surely have a bright future and he healthy in body and mind.

American children like to celebrate their birthdays. They usually celebrate them with a party. They ask their friends to their parties. They don't have parties on the right dates(准确的日期)of their birthdays if they come on a school day. They may hold(举办) them at the weekend. 

Today many children like two kinds of parties in America. One is at home. Parents decorate the house with balloons(气球)and coloured paper. They make a special birthday dinner. The children play games. The other is away from home. Some are at a special restaurant. The children eat pizza and ice cream. The waiters also sing and say happy birthday to the children. Some are at a park, or at a cinema, or in some other places. 

There is a cake with candles(蜡烛) at every birthday party. When the candles are lighted(点燃), everyone sings the special birthday song Happy Birthday. 

Many people don't have birthday parties when they are not young. They say they would like to forget how old they are. But they do like to keep the happy birthday parties of their childhood in mind(记忆). 

Thousands of years ago, in the south of ancient China, there lived Shen Nong, a man who had an ox (4) head and a human body. Seeing that local people were suffering from diseases, he built ladders and houses on a high mountain to store hundreds of medical plants. To remember him, people named the place Shennongjia.

The legend(传说 )makes Shennongjia in Hubei an inviting place for tourists. Traveling there is a unique experience, as you can see scenery of the four seasons from different altitudes.

" When the bottom of the mountain is summer, the top is spring and while the foot of a hill is autumn, the top is covered with ice, " local people speak of the special climate of Shennongjia.

Shennongjia is also home to thousands of species of animals and plants. Many endangered animals live there, such as the golden monkey, the clouded leopard and the Asian black bear.

One interesting and mysterious thing about Shennongjia is its legend of wild men. Some people once claimed that they saw big prints or big-foot creatures. Yet so far, scientists haven' proved that it is true and some say they are just bears.

The beautiful place has received a new title. On July 17,2016,$hennongjia Forestry District was added to the World Heritage List as a natural site. China now has 56 world heritage(进产) sites, second only to Italy in the world.

Because of the COVID-19, many zoos are having difficult times. Luckily, there are new ways for them to raise money, such as having animal shows online, selling cultural products（文化产品）, making animal stars and adopting animals online （在网上认养动物）. 

For Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo, online adoption is one of the ways to get help to get through hard times. People from all over the world can pay to adopt their favourite animals. The zoo will use the money to buy food for its animals and pay for their medical care. If someone adopts an animal, they can get a certificate （证书） and learn about the animal's daily life online. They can go to the zoo for free, have the chance to feed the animal and clean its living space. 

Animals like elephants, golden monkeys, koalas and tigers are all on the adoption list. Each animal has its own introduction. You can see its photo and know about its age and living habits（生活习惯）. 

These new ways to raise money make people think about how a zoo works. Modern zoos are not only places for visitors to see animals but also places to teach people how to protect animals.
