Computers make people's lives really easy. People can use their computers for working, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (shop), or playing games. Laptop (笔记本) computers make people's lives even {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (easy) as people can take laptops anywhere. They can work, shop, or play games any place {#blank#}3{#/blank#} any time. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} there is a problem with laptops. People can {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (burn) by them!

People who sit with laptops on {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (they) legs for hours and hours have noticed they get dark marks on their legs. The hot laptop is toasting the skin. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (doctor) have noticed more people show up with "toasted skin syndrome (综合症)". The marks are not {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (danger), but they look strange because they are just in one spot on people's legs.

Companies that make computers tell people not {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (let) warm computers touch bare skin for a long time. Wearing pants and putting a laptop's case under the laptop is {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (usual) enough to protect one's skin from the computer's heat.

Next time you make yourself a hot cup of tea or coffee，you might want to let it cool down a bit before drinking. 

Researchers say letting your hot drinks cool off could help you avoid some kinds of cancer. Researchers at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) found evidence that drinks at temperatures above 65 degrees Celsius, when swallowed, can cause cancer of the esophagus (食道). The researchers examined findings from other studies where tea and coffee were often served at 70degrees Celsius or above. Those studies were completed in Iran, China and South America. 

In developed countries, health experts have linked esophageal cancer to smoking and alcoholic drinks. However, this form of cancer is more common in areas where people drink beverages at very high temperatures. 

In Europe and the United States, many people drink coffee and tea at temperatures around 60degrees Celsius. And they often add milk which lowers the temperature considerably. However，tea﹣drinkers in Iran and mate﹣drinkers in South America often enjoy their beverages at closer to 70degrees Celsius. 

The researchers note that South Americans not only drink their mate very hot，they also drink it through a metal straw. This sends the scalding liquid directly into the throat. 

The findings, however, are good news for coffee drinkers. In 1991, the World Health Organization listed coffee as possibly carcinogenic (致癌的). WHO officials have since changed their position on that listing. They now suggest that the temperature of your hot drink is a greater risk factor than the actual drink itself. 

The results suggest that drinking very hot beverages is one probable cause of esophageal cancer and that it is the temperature, rather than the drinks themselves, that appears to be responsible.

The American-Chinese Culture Exchange Center (ACCEC) are now looking for some volunteers from middle school for our summer camp from August 20th～30th in 2022.

During the summer camp, 300 students aged from 7 to 10 will fly from America to China to learn about Chinese culture. They will visit some places of interest and learn Chinese as well. We will try our best to provide the best camping experience, so we are looking for "the best of the best" volunteers.

◆ Needed skills: Good at Chinese and English. Patient enough to get on well with children. Active in learning. Always ready to help. Good at communicating with others and work well as a team.

◆ Training: Before the camp, all volunteers need to receive a 10-day training. Learning how to work with the children and how to teach Chinese to them.

Drinking tea is an important part of Chinese culture. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. The most common types of Chinese tea are as follows.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. It has a pale color and a sharp flavor (口味). It is produced mainly in Anhui and Zhejiang. The most popular green tea is Longjing Tea, which is produced near West Lake, Hangzhou.

Red Tea (Black Tea) is the second most popular type of Chinese tea. It can help treat stomachaches. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. 

Wulong Tea, also known as blue tea, has the advantages(优点) of green and red teas. It has a gentle flavor and can help people lose weight. Tie Guanyin Tea in Anhui and Dongding Wulong Tea in Taiwan are two well-known types of it.

Scented Tea (花茶) is created by mixing tea leaves with flowers.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Iasmine (茉莉) tea is the most popular of this kind.

① On April 25, 2024, China successfully sent the Shenzhou-18 spaceship with three astronauts to Tiangong space station for a six- month mission (任务). Among the three astronauts, Ye Guangfu is the mission commander (指挥官), with rich experience. 

② Ye was born in Septembe, 1980 and grew up in a small village in Sichuan. At the age of eight, his father died. Ye remembered how difficult it was for his family to make a living. Although it seemed impossible for him to try out to become an air force pilot at first, his love for flying and hard work got him into the Air Force Aviation University of China. 

③ In 2009, Ye decided to reach even higher and applied to (申请) be an astronaut. Becoming an astronaut, one must face many challenges. Ye even trained in caves (洞穴) in Europe where he had to find his way through dark and wet caves. This made him the first Chinese person to finish this training. Ye never gave up his dream. And his hard work paid off when he made his first journey into space on the Shenzhou-13 mission on October 16, 2021. 

④ Ye is always thankful for all the difficult times because they help him keep going and stick to(坚持) his dreams. Ye is really a role model who shows us the importance of strong perseverance (毅力).
