Some animals can easily find their way home after a long journey. How do they make it? Scientific research shows that they are born with certain unusual abilities for direction. 

A certain kind of ants, for example, can count their steps to avoid getting lost. They can go as far as 110 meters and bring food home. These ants live in the open desert, so they have nothing to guide them along the way. It's like someone walking six kilometers through a dark forest. 

Some fish have an unbelievable sense of smell. They can smell even a single drop of their home water in a large sea area. Some sea birds have a similar ability. They are able to make a smell map of their flying area. 

Some animals can sense the earth's magnetic field (磁场), while humans can't. This magnetic field guides a certain kind of fish when they swim a long way to a place and then back, How can this kind of fish do that? It is still a mystery. Scientists have no good answers yet. 

However, animals with such unusual abilities still have difficulty dealing with environmental changes caused by human activities. For example, many birds depend on stars for direction, but they get lost easily at night when city lights are kept on all night. To solve this problem, we can simply turn off some lights at night. Clearly, one small act of humans may mean a lot to animals.

A strange way to get relaxed has become popular to cities across China. That is hugging trees. Young people feel comfortable after tree- hugging.

Hundreds of people online share their tree- hugging experiences. They think they feel less stressed (有压力的) and worried. It is also a way of keeping a close relationship with the natural world. By hugging a tree, some of them feel the tree is hugging them back.

Jenny gave up her job because of too much work stress. According to her, hugging trees helps her a lot . She enjoys herself in hugging trees." Hugging trees helps me relax and lets me go back to a natural state(状态). I feel so free and feel the world is so big."

In fact, hugging trees is a kind of psychological therapy (心理治疗). It first came from northern Europe. In northern Finland, there's even a tree- hugging competition every August. A study shows that hugging can lead people to give off hormone(荷尔蒙). Hormone can give people feelings of love and make people less stressed.

Though tree- hugging is helpful for people's body and mind, there are many things we should think about before we do that.

The greatest feeling in the world comes not from receiving gifts or getting good grades in the exams. It starts when you do something for others. You feel it when you drive for an hour to a hospital to meet the sick children. And you feel it when you sit down to comfort（安慰） your friend after her mother died.

Gestures are used to replace words in many countries. They usually have different meanings in different cultures. Let's look at some of the gestures. 

◎What does the "O" gesture mean?

If you are an English speaker or diving(潜水) under the sea, it means "OK" or "good". In fact, it's believed that this gesture is popular used by divers. The Japanese read it as "money". The French read it as "zero" or "no value". 

◎What does the "thumb-up" gesture mean? 

This gesture also means differently in different countries. English speakers use it to stand for "OK", which is the same meaning as the "O" gesture. To most people, it stands for the number "1", since they count from 1 to 5, beginning with the thumb for 1 and ending with the little finger for the number 5. 

Although Americans and British people usually ask for a ride with their thumbs raised, the gesture will not make a Greek(希腊)driver stop to give them a ride.

Extending the index finger means different things in different countries. The Chinese extend their index finger upward to show the number. They can refer to the number, such as "one", "one hundred", "one thousand", etc. In Japan, the index finger up means only one or once. This gesture means the first in order. In the United States of America, use this gesture when asking the other person to wait. In Australia, in bars and restaurants, the index finger is extended upward, saying, "A glass of beer, please. " But pay attention, in the Middle East, it is impolite to point at something with your index finger. 

During the National Day holiday, the sky above Shenzhen was lit up by impressive drone 〔无人机〕 light shows. This" cyber fireworks" lit up the night, painting a lively picture of Shenzhen as a" City of Miracles, City of Innovation, City of Future". A total of 10, 197DAMODA drones took to the sky at the same time, setting two Guinness World Records. So how does the drone light show work?

 Before a drone light show begins, drones are usually put on the ground one by one and it would take a lot of time to prepare a show with more than ten thousand drones. To shorten the time, the DAMODA drone company thought of a solution. The company put groups of drones into big boxes with specific OR codes on it. By putting the boxes into correct places, thousands of drones can be ready in a short time and they can go back to their"homes" by scanning the OR codes. 

 In drone shows, each drone is programmed by a computer to follow its own flight direction, carefully avoiding the other drones. They communicate with neighbouring drones and use sensors(传感器) to keep a certain distance. The position and LED colours change throughout the performance to show different objects in the night sky. 

 Drone light shows are thought to be more environmentally friendly — and certainly cause less noise and light pollution — than fireworks shows, so lots of big events are turning to them instead of fireworks. Drones can also be reused again and again so they will probably be more popular in the future.
