A lunch break is an important and often necessary part of our working or school day. It's time to get something to eat and maybe chat with some friends. And now we're gradually getting used to plenty of places to buy our lunch from, all offering delicious dishes and sandwiches to eat.

But buying our lunch is not just costing us money, there might be a cost in polluting our planet, too. Just a sandwich and maybe a cake and coffee can produce much waste. Packing paper and plastic are part of disposable (一次性的) materials besides the food waste that we create. Some experts say throwing away food is a big cause of environmental problems.

As for the solution (解决办法) to the problem, according to an environmental group called Hubbub, is to eat packed lunches. Tessa Tricks from the group thinks it's usually healthier and cheaper to make your own lunch.  ▲ 

Of course, if you don't have time to prepare your packed lunch and you are going to buy lunch, Hubbub proposes that you should take your own food container (容器) to a shop and ask them to put your food in it. The idea of using reusable coffee cups for hot drinks and refilling water bottles has already been known successful, so this could be another step in the right direction.

The problem with eating is that you might want to carry your food in something that is disposable, so it's a good idea to make sure it's something recyclable. The message seems to be that if we give our lunchtime eating habits some thought, we will all make an effort in the climate (气候) change and protecting our environment. That is something for all of us to consider and take action!

         Many people are superstitious(迷信的) about numbers. They think that there are lucky numbers and1 numbers.

         The number 13 is often considered（被认为) unlucky. In2 parts of the world, buildings don't have the3 floor. People go from the twelfth to the fourteenth4 . Some door numbers are like that5 . In Japan, the number 4 is considered unlucky because in Japan the word "four" is pronounced the same as the word "death". The Japanese6 give gifts of four knives, four napkins or four of anything.

7 are lucky numbers? 7 is a lucky number in many places, and 8 is considered a lucky number both in Japan and China. In China, businesses often open8 August 8, and many couples get married at 8:08 on August 8. Some people9 lucky numbers very deeply. They would like to get a telephone number with "8" or "6" in it though it10 them much more money. They think that the lucky numbers can really bring them good luck, and, at least no evidence（证据)says they can not.

Do you know which social app is popular with Chinese young people now? "Short videos"are certainly the most popular. A large number of young people use Tik Tok(抖音) and Kuaishou. They think it is fun to share their lives by short videos, while others have other purposes as well.

A 12－year－old user named Elsa has about 2.7 million fans on Tik Tok. The girl has shared her dancing studies on Tik Tok since last July. One of the videos won her about one million fans."I feel really glad to share happiness with people by short videos, " said Elsa.

To some other young people, they use short videos to have a quick look at the hot programmes. "Because I don't like to spend many hours watching a whole programme, I hate waiting for a programme to end, and I prefer to watch short videos of wonderful parts of hot programmes, " said Wang Zhihao.

However, some young people feel bored with short videos."Killing time is the main reason for me to watch short videos, and many short videos are almost the same, so I think they are not so useful or interesting. What's more, I really don't like the videos about odd and dangerous things, " said Wen Nan, another college student.

Recently, something else has appeared. Some videos tell people what products are worth buying. Some short videos even sell bad products, and it is hard for customers to get their money back. So we should think twice before we want to buy the products by short videos.
