A man was on a flying plane. Suddenly he heard a warning from the pilot (飞行员). The pilot 1people on the plane to fasten their seatbelts (系紧安全带).

The man 2around the plane and found that many of the people became worried. Later, the pilot said, "We are so 3that we are not able to serve the meal at this time. There are currents (气流) in front of us." And then the storm came. The plane shook a lot.

The man saw that nearly 4the people on the plane were afraid except a little girl. The storm meant 5to her. She just sat on her seat and read a book. Sometimes she closed her 6to have a rest, and then she would read again. When the terrible 7came, the child was very calm.

The man couldn't believe his eyes. So as soon as the plane finally 8its destination (目的地), the man went to the girl and asked her 9she wasn't afraid at all. The sweet child answered, "That's 10my dad is the pilot and he is taking me home."

Last summer, President Xi Jinping came to Cuiyun Corridor（翠云廊 ） and personally experienced the unique beauty of the ancient cypresses （柏 树 ）, most of which are more than one thousand years old. Cuiyun corridor is a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(history) path in Jiange County{#blank#}2{#/blank#}is also famous for Jianmen Pass（剑门关 ）. It was built in the Qin and Han dynasties. People planted more trees along the road and repaired it in the following dynasties. This effort is now {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(know) as Cuiyun corridor. 

One of the most impressive historical{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(story）connected with Cuiyun Corridor is the Emperor Liu Bei and his brother Guan Yu from the Three Kingdoms period. It is {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(say) that during their journey to Western Shu, they met enemies while {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(cross)

Cuiyun Corridor. However, they managed{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(escape)with their intelligence . According to the legend, during their escape, Liu Bei and Guan Yu used the dense（茂密的） cypress forest on both sides of Cuiyun Corrior to cover their positions from the chasers（追兵）. 

However, many trees are {#blank#}8{#/blank#}danger now because of some reasons. We are sorry to see the{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(die) of some trees. President Xi encouraged us {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(take) active actions now to protect our old trees and create a more beautiful living environment. 

I'm Frank and I want to catch a goat. When the goats are between me and my dog, I hide behind a 1 . Then I shout at my dog, "2 here." He starts to run to me and the goats, too. I stay in my position behind the tree. When one of the goats is close to me, I jump and catch its 3 . But then the goat kicks me in my nose with its other leg.

A month later, I find a few green leaves in that place. It is 14 corn. Words can't express how happy I am. I have corn on the island. It is 15 . I can bake bread in the future.

Today there are policemen everywhere, but in 1700 London had no policemen at all. A few old men used to protect the city streets at night and they were not paid much. 

About 300 years ago, London was starting to get bigger. More and more people went to live and work there. However, there were many thieves in the streets, so most people wanted to stay in their homes as much as possible. 

In 1750, Henry Fielding started to pay a group of people to stop thieves. They were like policemen, but they were called "Bow Street Runners" because they worked just near Bow Street. Fifty years later, there were 120 Bow Street Runners, but London became very big and needed more policemen. 

In 1829, the first London Police Force was started with 3, 000 officers. Most of the men worked on foot, but a few rode horses. And until 1920 all the police in London were men. 

Today London Police are quite well paid and for the few police officers who still ride horses, the pay is even better than for the others. 

It was a week before I saw Captain Nemo again. Every morning, I noticed fresh air coming into the rooms and I knew that the Nautilus had come to the top. I would go out and see the sunrise.

 Then I received a note from Captain Nemo. He invited me and my friends to go hunting with him in the forests of Crespo Island. Ned was excited because he thought there he could find a chance to run away. When I saw Captain Nemo the next day, I asked him why he was so interested in Crespo Island. "I thought you preferred the sea. "

"I do," replied the Captain. "But these forests are under the sea." During breakfast, he explained, "I have made diving suits that used special air tanks before I sent you the note. These tanks would allow us to stay under the water for ten hours. Wonderful, isn't it?" He said he had also made lights that worked in electric batteries. When Ned realized that we were not going onto land for our hunting trip, he decided not to come at all.

 Conseil and I put on our diving suits, and so did Captain Nemo and one of his men. We stepped into a room and closed the door. The room was filled with water, and another door opened. We went through it, and we were on the sea floor. It was an amazing experience.

 We were about ten metres under the water. The light from the sun reached us. Everything looked very colourful. We walked over the fine sand and enjoyed the colours of the shells, fish and seaweed (海草). Conseil and I followed Captain Nemo and his man as they crossed a large grassy area. We were going deeper and deeper.

 As we were a hundred metres under the water, we could still see quite well. Captain Nemo stopped and pointed to some dark shapes. This was the forest. The"trees" there were giant seaweed, and all their branches were vertical(垂直的). We could not stop looking at them. Fish swam around the branches like birds in a forest. Small bushes grew under the large seaweed trees.

 Three hours later, we lay down to rest. I was not hungry, but very sleepy. We all slept, and when we woke up, we explored further.
