Can you live with no phones or TV? With no cars or supermarkets? Do you want to live in a tree house?

 In A Life in the Trees, Rebecca Moore goes 15,000 kilometers from London to Papua New Guinea. In Papua New Guinea, Rebecca meets the Kombai people. She writes about their lives in the jungle(丛林).

 Moore lives with the Kombai women and children for three months. The Kombai people have no watches and no cars. There is no school for children. Parents teach their children to cook, hunt(狩猎) and swim.

 The Kombai get up every morning at sunrise. Kombai men hunt in the jungle. They can hunt for 12 hours. They also cut down sago palms. The women cook the inside of the trees. The Kombai people eat this food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 The biggest thing of Kombai life is building(建造) their tree houses. The men, women and children all help build tree houses. Each house is 20 meters high. The stories in this book show the Kombai people's lives in the trees.

No one can know what the weather will be like in the future, but many people think there will be some changes. 

Scientists say that in many places it will be hotter and it will rain less. Some countries in Africa(非洲) will become dry, and people can hardly (几乎不) find food and water. In Southern Europe(欧洲) and the United States, plants will be difficult to grow. People will also have problems finding food in the future. 

No one knows how much warmer it will be, but scientists say that the change is going to be at least(至少) 2℃. They say that the ice in the Arctic (北极) is going to melt____in the next years and a lot of the animals there are going to die. There is also going to be more water in the sea, so cities near the sea are going to disappear. 

Another change is that there will be more hurricanes and typhoons (飓风和台风). Scientists say they will happen all over the world, and many people will lose their homes. 

Christmas is one of the happiest times of the year. It's time we spend with family members，giving gifts to each other and eating lots of delicious food. However，at the same time it can also be a nervous time. You have to spend much time and money planing and buying presents for everyone. You need to clean the rooms or even clear some of them out and put up the Christmas tree，the decorations and the balloons. And you have to communicate with your friends and relatives whom you perhaps wouldn't usually spend so much time with. So what can we do to deal with these things to enjoy the happy time to the fullest?

Usually，you have to face the busy shops to do your Christmas shopping during this holiday. That can make you stressed out. To stay calm(冷静的) during this holiday，you can start your shopping early. In other words，you can buy presents for people before Christmas comes so that you can save yourself some money. What's more，you can buy your presents on the Internet，which means that you can find anything you can think of，and you can do it in your living room. It's much cheaper，so you can save money. 

Did you once drink more than usual，eat cakes you didn't want or do something else which left you feeling tired? Remember that it's your right to enjoy Christmas in the way you want and that you should take no notice of those who tell you that you're not being Christmassy. 

Finally，you'd better have low expectations. If your expectations are high，you will make yourself upset. Don't let yourself be pressured into making the Christmas perfect. So，just be satisfied to have a pleasant evening with your family and let what happens happen. 

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important festival s in China. The moon is 1 and fuller than at any other time of year. The full  moon  is a  symbol of reunion(团聚). It is a time for friends and family to gather together, offer 2 to the fall  harvest(丰收), and  pray(祈求) for good life. People 3 it by gathering for dinners, worshiping (敬奉) the moon, lighting  paper  lanterns  and eating mooncakes. 

The most famous food during the Mid-Autumn Festival is mooncakes. Their round 4 and sweet  taste  symbolize(象征)  completeness(圆满)  and  sweetness. On the Mid-Autumn Festival, people eat mooncakes together with family, or share mooncakes to relatives or friends to5 their love and best wishes. People usually set a table outside their houses and sit together to admire the full moon 6 enjoying tasty mooncakes. Parent s with little kids often tell the story of Chang' e Flying to the Moon. As a game, kids try 7 best to find the shape of Chang' e on the moon. 

Lanterns are an 8 part of  Mid-Autumn  Festival. People make lanterns, carry lanterns in the moonlight, hang lanterns in the9 or houses, release(释放) sky lanterns, or  watch  lantern  shows. A10 is to write riddles(谜语) on lanterns so that people can enjoy solving them with friends or family. 

The world's oldest known musical instruments are more than 40,000 years old. For tens of thousands of years, humans have been making music for pleasure and to express themselves. Recently, there has been a rise in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to create music. Some AI music has become so popular online. The technology has been used by lots of musicians. Some people think that using AI to produce music isn't creative enough because it just makes songs out of old music. What do you think? Is AI bad for new music?

Yes—AI music is not creative, says Peter

Using AI might be cheaper than paying a musician. If companies can use AI to produce popular music that makes lots of money from people buying and listening to it, it could put musicians like me out of work. If musicians can't earn money from music, there will be far fewer of them creating new songs. Anyway, listening to music that was made by a computer isn't the same experience as listening to human-made music.

When I create songs, I put different feelings and real experiences into my work, creating songs that connect with people at a deep level. Songs produced by AI aren't original because the computer just makes music from the old one. AI music isn't completely creative.

No—AI can produce new ideas, says Mary

I'm a music lover. When I turn on my radio or headphones and a great new song comes on, it makes me feel good. Wonderful music brings people together to sing and dance. If people are enjoying music, does it matter whether it was made by a human or a machine?

I think music makers can use computers, which help to perfect sound and mix different layers of a song. For them, AI is just another new technology, a tool that they can use to express ideas. It won't replace musicians but they can work with it. Building on AI music could save them time. It could allow much more music to be produced and it could lead to new and special style s of music. AI could create exciting music that humans could never have dreamed of.
