A growing number of people are using ChatGPT, an AI program, to create books for sale.

Until recently, Brett Schickler never imagined he could be a writer. But after learning about ChatGPT, Schickler decided that he had a good chance. "The idea of writing a book finally seemed possible," said Schickler, a postman in New York. "I thought I could do this."

Using the AI program, Schickler created a 30-page picture book in a few hours. He offered it for sale in January through Amazon. "The book has made me less than $100," he said. While that may not sound like much, it is enough to make him want to create other books using ChatGPT. Like Schickler, Kamil Bane told his wife that he could make a book in less than one day. "It was actually really simple," he said. "I was surprised at how fast it went from an idea to publishing（出版）."

However, Mark Dawson, a famous writer, was quick to call  ChatGPT-aided novels"dull", which means not interesting. He said,"If a book gets bad reviews because the writing is dull, then it's quickly going to the bottom."

Mary Rasenberger is a member of a writer's group. She said,"This is something we really need to think about. These books will pour into the market and a lot of writers are going to be out of work."

In China, there is a fun activity on a baby's 1st birthday. People call it "Zhuazhou". 

On that day, parents usually put a table on the bed. On the table, there are some books, pens, rulers, food, toys and so on. Then parents put the baby at the table and the baby can take anything on it. 

The things may show what the baby may be good at in the future. For example, if a baby takes a book, people will say he or she will be good at writing. If a baby takes a kitchen ware (厨具), people will say he or she will be a good cook. When a baby takes a cake or a toy, people will say he or she will know how to enjoy life more. 

Today, we have a "Zhuazhou" for my cousin. He takes a book from the table. My uncle is very happy and calls him "Wenhao". He puts much hope(希望) on the name.

English is becoming more and more popular in China. It can be used in every field, such as on some signs and restaurant menus. But there are some problems when people use it. Perhaps you' ve seen the English letters "WC" in your city. They show public toilets. But do you know it is far from native(地道的) English? In fact, foreigners from English-speaking countries seldom use the letters. Workers in our city are changing "WC" signs all over the city. The government is spending much money changing all the bad English on signs and restaurant menus. Many other places in China are following the steps. 

"WC, or water closet, is old-fashioned English. It sounds dirty to me, " says Nancy, a young woman from the US. The old sign will become "Gents/Men" and "Ladies/Women". "I see much poor English in everyday life, and not only on signs, " she says. "I know what they mean, but they are Chinglish, not real English. For example, when someone says to me ‘My home town is Zhejiang Province', I know he or she should say ‘My home town is in Zhejiang Province'. Home town is a smaller place in a province. " The common mistakes that Nancy picked up include "Not Entry", which should be" No Entry"; "Direction of Airport" should be changed to "To the Airport". And it is "Room Rate", not "Room Price". And remember to "Keep off the Grass" rather than "Care of the Green. " The next time you walk on the street or eat in the restaurant, you can go and see if the expressions are right. 

Nick and I are in the same class. He doesn't study well and he never talks with us. He doesn't have many friends. Today is Tuesday. We are studying in the classroom.

"Hi, Tom. My birthday is on this Saturday. I'd like to invite you to my party. I think it must be cool," Nick says to me.

I am very happy and want to be at the party, but I'm afraid (害怕) my friends will laugh at me. "If you study well, I will go."

"Oh, oh, OK. Cool." Nick says. With his head down, Nick goes away.

In the afternoon, I know most of my classmates will go to the party. They say they want to be Nick's friends and help him. My face turns red. I want to say sorry to Nick tomorrow. And I will buy a birthday present for him.
