Do you like fishing? Have you ever put a fish back into the water after catching it? What made you decide to do this?

One day, two fishermen were fishing in a pond（池塘）. Both of them were looking forward to getting a big catch. The first fisherman caught a big fish in a few minutes. He was very happy. He put the fish in his box. He would cook it in the afternoon. Soon the second fisherman also caught a large fish. However, he threw it back into the pond. Later, he caught many more big fish, only to throw them back into the water again and again. 

The first fisherman was surprised. "Why are you throwing the fish back into the water? They are beautiful and big!" The second fisherman answered, " l know they are big, but I don't have a pan(锅)that is big enough to cook big fish! I'm looking for a small fish that fits my cooking pan.

The first fisherman was surprised by the answer. He told the second fisherman that he could just cut the big fish into small pieces to fit them into the small pan. 

Many of us are just like the second fisherman. We don't think carefully and this sometimes causes us to lose chances. 

There are many ways you can {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (练习) and improve your English outside the classroom. Following are some examples: 

◆Get an English-speaking pen friend. This is a great way to learn English!

◆You can learn English from m{#blank#}2{#/blank#} or newspapers. Read a story in your {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (自己的) language first, and then read it in English to see how well you can u{#blank#}4{#/blank#}.

◆Buy or borrow a book that is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (适合的) for you. The stories are interesting and the language isn't too difficult. You'll {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (开始) to enjoy reading English.

◆ It's a good idea to listen to songs by one of your favorite English-speaking {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (乐队). You needn't get every word {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (清楚地).

◆You can try an English learning website or just read about your favorite film stars or sports people. 80% of the Internet is in English and there's a lot of interesting i{#blank#}9{#/blank#} there.

◆And don't {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (忘记) to watch TV, for example, CCTV 9, or films in English. It's also a fun way to improve your listening.

Everyone has his or her own experiences and daily routine. Here are three people talking about their daily lives．

If I had a cold, I wouldn't think twice about telling my friends or my doctor. For some reason, however, if I had a mental（心理的）problem, I might not treat it in the same way.

At my elementary school, mental health was not discussed even once as far as I can remember. This makes me wonder how many other schools are failing to educate their students on this topic. It makes me sad that children growing up with mental illness may feel like it is something to be ashamed of（对……感到羞耻的）because it is never discussed. When I reached high school, mental health was still seldom discussed. But when it was in the topic of health or biology class, I was given a broad idea that mental illness was a "thing" that really lies.

In my opinion, overstressed high school students could benefit（获益）greatly from more deep discussions about how to deal with mental health problems, such as how to know when you should care about yourself or a friend, or who to reach out for help. I know my friends and I could have benefited. Even if you personally have never faced mental health problems, someone you know is sure to have, and you can offer timely help.

I also believe we need to normalize discussions about mental health at an early age, instead of hiding them from sight. At school, I saw a student's report on mental health education and how it can be carried out in the American school system. The student used the film Inside Out to explain feelings to younger kids. This report made me believe that it, is possible to start these discussions at a young age if we try.

Although we can't change the way people think about mental health over one night, there are still things we can do. Asking our friends how they're feeling is a good start.

People are spending much money buying mystery boxes (盲盒) these days. Usually, there are toys in mystery boxes, but now shops are putting food in them. They are "leftover mystery boxes". 

They are more and more popular in China's cities, such as Beijing, Nanjing and Chengdu. The food inside is near its expiration date (保质期) and will be thrown away if no one buys it. 

Each box costs little money but has a lot of food inside. I buy leftover mystery boxes from an app called Too Good To Go. Each box costs about 3 to 5 pounds (27 to 45 yuan), and there are usually three to four things inside. For example, a box I buy from the coffee shop has three kinds of bread and one cake. The box costs 3 pounds but the original price (原价) is around 10 pounds. Every time I buy a mystery box, I feel happier thinking about how much money I can save. Wasting less food is also good for the environment. 

But the boxes also bring me problems. Because I can't choose what's in the box, sometimes I get the same kind of food. Also, the food may not be nutritious (有营养的) enough. I have to make other dishes, such as a salad, to make the meal healthier.
