Hi! My name is Tony Brown. Tony is my first name. Brown is my last name. I am 12 years old. I am in London, England with my family. Now I am a student of a middle school. At school, my favorite is English because it is interesting (有趣的). Look! This is my telephone, it is a red small one. But (但是) I like black.

I have two pen-friends. They are Luke Smith and Li Xiaoting. Luke is from USA. Blue and white are his favorite colors. Li Xiaoting is a Chinese girl. Xiaoting is her first name. Li is her last name. Her English name is Lily. She is 13 years old. She likes English, too. She listens to BBC in the evening. She is a good girl. She is nice to me. Look, I have a photo of her, she is in red in the picture with her sister Grace.

 I left my hometown in London last year and now I have enjoyed working in this small city in China.Learning a foreign language opens your eyes to the culture and history of a country.So in order to know more about China，l started to learn Chinese.

But at times，I found myself in funny situations.When I greeted strangers in China，they began to talk a lot and very fast.They asked me questions about everything.But all I could do was to look at them with a blank face.I had no idea what they were talking about.Were they just being kind

However，the more Chinese I learn，the more similarities I find it has with English.In English， "thickskinned" is to describe a person who doesn't care about criticism （批评）.I was surprised to find that "houlianpi" in Chinese means the same.And both languages share some common idioms （习语）， "look on with folded arms" means "xiushoupangguan"，and "burn the boats" is similar to "pofuchenzhou".

I'm still on my journey to Chinese learning.I believe that sometimes you have the most fun on a journey.

My parents are always very busy with their work. When I don't need to go to school, I have to stay at home by{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（I）. 

Sometimes I feel really bored and want to go on a trip. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（lucky）, last week my parents had a four-day vacation, so they decided  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（take）  me to Guilin by train. When we got to the station, we saw many people there and we  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（wait） over an hour for the train. 

Guilin is a {#blank#}5{#/blank#} （wonder） city with beautiful scenery （风景）. There are new buildings everywhere in the city. People there are friendly and the streets are very clean. On the second day after we arrived there, we rented （租） three  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} （bicycle） and rode them around the city.  {#blank#}7{#/blank#} we were hungry, we stopped to eat some food. On the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（three） day, we took a boat trip along the Lijiang River to Yangshuo. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the way, we saw mountains of different shapes （形状）. We spent three days in Guilin and had {#blank#}10{#/blank#} enjoyable time.
