In China, the most important meal for most families is the Chinese New Year's Eve dinner. Food like {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (饺子), fish, oranges and rice cakes are always found on the table for the big dinner. What are the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(特殊)meanings behind these dishes?

With a history of more than 1,800 years, dumplings are a classic and traditional dish. They are quite {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (受欢迎) in many parts of China,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (尤其) in North China. It is said that the more dumplings you eat, the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (富有) you will be.

As the Chinese culture gets more and more popular, the food is welcomed in other Asian countries and even in Western countries. Thanks to the popularity of the food, Chinese culture may spread across the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (世界). More and more people become interested in Chinese culture.

ORBIS is a charity (慈善机构). It helps the people who can't see. The doctors and nurses in the charity fly to the poor places all over the world to help blind people. But they need lots of money to do this, so the doctors at ORBIS hope that more and more people can raise money for them to support their work.

Once, there were two hard-working children, Che Yin and Sun Kang. They loved reading, but their families were poor and didn't have enough money to buy lamp oil (灯油) for the children to study at night. How did they get over the difficulty? Here are their stories.

Che Yin's story began on a hot summer night. He saw fireflies (萤火虫) flying and an idea came into his mind. He caught some fireflies, put them in a bag and hung it up as a lamp. He spent all of his summer nights reading like this.

The other story happened in winter. Sun Kang woke up on a cold night. He saw the moon shine so brightly (明亮地) on the snow and it made the night brighter. "I can read with it!" he thought. So he took his books outside and read, even though it was very cold. 

Later, Che Yin and Sun Kang became successful. Their stories were turned into Chinese words "nangying yingxue". Difficulties cannot stop young minds from learning. If there is a will, there is always light on the road to knowledge (知识).

Scene1 (At Salesman's home)

Narratage (画外音): In a dark dirty house, there lived a small, dirty salesman He always makes unhealthy candies and sells them to the students. He has a lot of money now. But how does he make the candies? Oh, oh! He is coming!

Salesman: Hello, do you know me? No? Oh, let me tell you. I'm the famous candy salesman at the school gate. My candies are very popular, I don't know why. The foolish students always come here. I'll be a boss soon!Candy, money, candy, money...

Oops! It's time to make candies now.

First, put the flour (面粉) on the table.

Then, water, sugar, flour.
