"Keep calm and carry on" — You can see this message written on many T-shirts and other tourist souvenirs(纪念品) in London and the UK. It has become so famous that there are many expressions of it: "keep calm and drink tea"; "keep calm and love dogs"; "keep calm and learn English". As you can see, you can substitute(替换) the "carry on" part for anything you want, really!

But where does the original(最初的) phrase come from? Well, it comes from World War II. It was a message used for a poster(海报) created by the British government to calm people down and encourage them during the war when London was being attacked(攻击). The idea was to carry on with life as normal, as if there was no war.

Staying calm when you're in trouble is known as a very British thing to do. British people are famous for keeping a "stiff upper lip". This means your lips don't shake when you are excited or frightened: you stay calm and don't show people how you are really feeling.

Are British people still like this today? Do they still keep a "stiff upper lip"? Modern Britain is very different from how it was 60 years ago and British people probably show their emotions(情绪) more than they used to. But if "keep calm and carry on" is still so famous today, then it must be something that British people still think and care about, and something they are still famous for. So next time you are frightened or in danger, just keep calm and carry on!

PE classes are becoming more interesting in China. Students can do many kinds of sports at school now.

T'ai chi

Gao Yuxiang from Yantai No,1 Middle School of Shandong Province enjoys t'ai chi at school. At first students do t'ai chi during breaks. And students fall in love with it soon. There is a t'ai chi match for Senior 2 students every year. "T'ai chi is different from ball games. It makes me calm down and become peaceful. It gets me ready for the next class," said Gao. After t'ai chi classes are over, Gao practises t'ai chi by himself in his free time.

Hip-hop dance

Ren Jianing is a hip-hop fan, and she has hip-hop classes in her high school this year. Every class they practise a new movement and in the next class they will learn to make a complete(整个的) dance."Our shirts are all wet after class, but I feel very happy. I join the hip-hop team. I learn teamwork and also make many good friends." said Ren.

Dragon boat race

The Dragon boat race is a tradition of Shenzhen Hongshan Middle School. Students hold the race in the playground instead of in the water.

 When shopping for clothes, my mother and I have always disagreed on what fits me well. To me, if it zips, it fits. My mom, however, usually tells me I need a bigger size.

 When I was a teenager, I wanted to dress like my friends, but my body size made it impossible. When mo m told me something didn't suit me, or I needed a bigger size, all I heard was that my body was wrong.

 To avoid arguments, we stopped going shopping together. This continued until  I got engaged(订婚) last year and needed to buy some clothes. When I tried on a blouse. my mother looked at me, and I knew what was coming." You need a bigger size," she said.

 There was no bigger size. I tried to hold back my tears. Maybe I could buy it alone, of course, but my mom is my favorite person to hang out with The idea of looking for a wedding dress without her seemed just as scary as taking her with me.

 And so the day came. As I tried on a simple white dress. I saw tears in my mom's eyes. " You look beautiful! " she told me. Nothing could have shocked me more.

 This one didn't zip up at the back and I did actually need a bigger size, but my mother didn't say that. She just told me how beautiful I looked. In that moment, all the argument s in the past ended. We didn't buy a dress that day.

 We decided to see more, which I would never have predicted.

A few weeks later, we found the perfect dress. We both loved it as soon as I put it on. And during those few weeks, mom and I also found the perfect fit for our shopping relationship.

When I was in seventh grade，I was shy，quiet and so was easily bullied（受欺负）

In an art lesson，just while the teacher was out，a big boy took away my pencil case，he took my schoolbag and pulled it towards him. I pulled back the schoolbag from his hand and for the first time，I pushed him away and hit him on the back. In the rest of the lesson，"Peter，are you OK? "

"Yes，"I answered. 

"No，you are not. Come to my office after class. "he said. 

There we had a long talk. He made me smile and I became confident again. He taught me some life lessons，and said，"Get up，but remember you are stronger inside，and if the bullies see this

I remembered these words. From then on，every time as I walked to school，I put my head high in the way

 Fred is 11. His first name is Frederick but we always call him Fred. Oranges are his favorite food.

 My friends and I are in the same school. Our school is next to a park. After school, we often play baseball in the park. It is our favorite game.
