The giant panda {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(love) by people throughout the world. Chinese scientists {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(recent) had a chance to study a wild female panda with a newborn baby. She was a very {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(care)mother. For 25days, she never left her baby, not even to find something {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(eat)! She would not let any other pandas come near. She licked the baby constantly to keep it clean. Any smell might attract natural {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(enemy) that would try to eat the little comforting pats. The mother held the baby in herfront paws much the way a human does. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} it cried, she rocked it back and forth and gave it little comforting pats, The mother continued to care for the young panda {#blank#}7{#/blank#}more than two years. By that time, the panda no longer needed {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(it) mother for food. However, it stayed with her and leaned about the ways of the forest.Then, after two and a half years, the mother {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(drive)the young panda away. It was time for her to have a new baby, {#blank#}10{#/blank#}itwas also time for the young panda to be independent.

    A young man and an old man were waiting for a bus. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} sat next to each other. “What's that in your bag? ” asked the young man, pointing to a big bag beside the old man.“Gold. There was nothing but gold,” Answered the old man. The young man could not believe his won ears and was {#blank#}2{#/blank#}great amazement. Then he began to think about {#blank#}3{#/blank#}to get the gold. The old man was very tired and it seemed that he could hardly keep his eyes open. After a while the old man {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(lie) down on the chair and fell asleep.The young man took {#blank#}5{#/blank#}big bag gently and quietly. But when he was just about to run away, he found a corner of his fur coat was under the old man's body. Several times he tried to pull it out, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} in vain. At last he took off his coat, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (think) that the gold in the bag must cost far more than his fur coat. Nervous but {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(delight), the young man ran out of the station as quickly as his legs could carry him until he reached a place {#blank#}9{#/blank#}he thought the old man couldn't find him. He stopped and quickly opened the bag but he just found a great many of small stones in it. Then he ran back to the station {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(hurry) only to find that the old man was gone.

    We high school students do have some growing pains,{#blank#}1{#/blank#} we can get rid of them correctly and wisely. First, some of us are upset {#blank#}2{#/blank#} their body styles and looks. It's unnecessary and it's not important at all. We needn't care about it. It is one's inner beauty{#blank#}3{#/blank#} matters. Second, we sometimes seem to be misunderstood by our teachers, parents and classmates.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (face) with this, we can find {#blank#}5{#/blank#} proper time to have a heart-to-heart talk with them, trying to remove the{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(understand). Some of us have fewer in ends. I think being open-minded and friendly{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (do) you good. Third, we may fall behind others,{#blank#}8{#/blank#} makes us stressed. Actually we can encourage {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to work efficiently, full of determination. Lastly, some of us don't have much pocket money, so they feel unhappy. Isn't it strange? So long as we have some, that's enough. And we can learn {#blank#}10{#/blank#}to spend money.

    I've got a problem with my husband, Sam. He bought a smart phone a couple of months ago and he took it on our recent ski vacation to Colorado, it was a great trip except for one problem. He has a constant urge {#blank#}1{#/blank#} for next messages; he checks his phone every five minutes! He's so addicted to it that he just can't stand the idea{#blank#}2{#/blank#} there may be an important text. He can't help checking even at inappropriate times like when we are eating in a restaurant and I am talking to him! He behaves {#blank#}3{#/blank#} any small amount of boredom can make him feel the need to check his phone even when he know he shouldn't. The temptation to see {#blank#}4{#/blank#} is connecting him is just too great. When I ask him to put down the phone and stop {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  (ignore) me, he say, “In a minute.” but still checks to see if {#blank#}6{#/blank#} has posted something new on the Internet. Our life {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  (interrupted). If we go somewhere and I ask him to have the phone at home, he suffers from withdrawal symptom. May this dependency on his smart phone has become more than an everyday problem.

    I recently read an article about “nomophobia,”{#blank#}8{#/blank#} is a real illness people can't suffer from the fear of being without your phone! I am worried that Sam maybe suffering from this illness because he feels anxious if he doesn't have his phone with him, even for a short time.

Who would have thought that little devices like these could have brought so much trouble!

    Sick and Tired Sadie

    My friend had a chance to make a trip to Hong Kong{#blank#}1{#/blank#} August 15, 2015. He had dreamed about {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (visit) it since his boyhood and it was the first time that he{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (be) there. The following was what he had seen.

    Arriving there, he was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (surprise) by its beautiful scenery and tall {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (building). As we all know, Hong Kong has the most skyscrapers in the world. Wherever he {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (go), he saw many smiling faces. People in Hong Kong were kind, generous, easy-going and ready to help others. Much to his surprise, he saw that people there always kept order in public places. {#blank#}7{#/blank#}a great number of people were waiting for the next train at the subway station, they were talking in such {#blank#}8{#/blank#} low voice as not to bother others.

    Chinese and English are the official languages of Hong Kong. English is {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (wide) used in governments, markets, service centers and other fields.

    Staying there for a week was a good experience for him, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} he would never forget.
