Mrs. Green is going to give a birthday party to Mary. Mary is her daughter. She will be ten years old. A lot of her friends are coming to the party. Twenty of them are girls.

Mrs Green is getting ready for the party. Mrs. White is helping her. "That's a big nice cake," says Mrs. White to Mrs Green. "Thank you very much."

Mrs Green is going shopping now. She is going to buy fruit for the party. Mrs Green buys a lot of pears, apples, oranges and bananas. Then she goes home.

It's five o'clock in the afternoon. Everything is ready. Now the first girl is arriving. The party is going to begin in thirty minutes.

A stupid farmer

In a faraway village, a farmer used to help a businessman without asking for anything in return. The businessman wanted to thank the farmer, so he gave him a big healthy goat.

The man carried the goat on his shoulders（肩膀）and starts walking back home. Three naughty boys saw him and wanted to trick（捉弄） him.

The first boy came to him and asked，"Why are you carrying a dog on your shoulders？" The man got angry and told the boy that it was a goat and not a dog.

As he kept walking, the second boy passed by and asked why he was carrying a dead calf（小牛） on his shoulders. The farmer answered angrily, "You fool! Can't you see this is a goat?" However, the second boy's question made the farmer feel worried and afraid.

After walking for some more distance, the third boy came towards the farmer, and asked with full curiosity（好奇心）, "Why are you carrying a donkey on your shoulders?"

Finally，the worried farmer got very afraid，thinking the goat was really a monster（怪物）.

The three boys took the goat away，laughed at the man and said， "What a foolish man he is!"

The Big Parade

On October 1st in 2019，to celebrate the 70th birthday of the People's Republic of China（中华人民共和国），there was a big parade on Tian'anmen Square.100，000 people and 70 floats（巡游花车） joined the parade.There were workers，farmers，teachers，students，and the Chinese women's volleyball players.I was one of them.As a Young Pioneer（少先队员），I stood on a colourful float with many other primary school students.We waved flowers.We sang and danced.We all wished our motherland a happy birthday and a glorious future（光明的未来）.That was the most exciting day in my life.I will never forget it.I am so proud of my motherland!
