Classical Music

Classical music is a form（形式）of music needing high musical skills . If you wish to learn this kind of music , you have to go through proper training .

Metal Music

Canada Day

Since 1982, July 1st has been officially known as Canada Day. Canadians of all ages take part in this festival across the country.
　　Canada Day is the year's biggest national party. In many towns and cities, the government organizes a lot of events, often outdoors. These include parades（游行）, concerts, festivals, firework displays and ceremonies for new Canadian citizens（公民）. The celebrations often have a patriotic mood. Canada's national flag, a symbol for Canada Day, can be seen everywhere and a lot of people paint their faces red and white, which are Canada's national colors. The celebrations in Ottawa, Canada's capital city, are especially grand and exciting.
　　In the province of Quebec, many home rentals（租赁）start on July 1st and last for exactly one year, and many people in Quebec spend Canada Day moving from one house to another. So in Quebec, Canada Day is also known as Moving Day.
　　Many organizations, businesses and stores are closed this day. Only some bookstores, ho spitals and gas stations may be open. Post offices are closed, too. As Canada Day falls in the Canadian summer holiday period, all schools are closed as well. In some areas, special services are provided for large events. The concerts, parades and festivals may cause some traffic jams.

We call the Chinese New Year the Spring Festival（春节）. There is a name for each Chinese year. We may call it the year of the sheep , the year of the monkey or the year of the dog. And this year is the year of the horse.
Before New Year's Day, people are busy shopping and cleaning their houses. On New Year's Eve, there is a big family dinner. After dinner, all the family stay up late to welcome the New Year. On the first day of the New Year, people put on their new clothes and go to visit their friends and relatives（亲戚）. They say “good luck” and some other greetings to each other. People usually have a very good time during the festival.

    Many young people like playing football very much. In China we can often see children playing football on the playground. In China and England, people call British soccer football. They don't call it soccer.
    A British soccer ball is round. There are eleven players in a team. But an American football is not round. It's like an egg. They also have eleven players on the field in one team.
    American football is very popular（流行的）in the USA. Players can catch the ball with their hands. But in a British soccer team, only the goalkeeper（守门员）can pick up the ball with his hands.
    Playing ball games is good for you. It can make you happy and healthy.

Long ago, people lived on wild animals, fruits and other plants and they didn't need to use money.
As time passed, families had more products(产品) than they needed, such as animals and crops. So they needed to trade(交易) with others. They began to use money to make it easier. However, it was not like the money we use today. They used shells, rice, salt or large stones.
During the 600s BC, people began using coins as money. Because they were easier to carry than goods(货物), countries began to make coins as their money.

The Chinese were the first to use paper money, probably in the 11th century. An Italian traveler, Marco Polo, saw the Chinese use paper money when he visited China in the 1200s. After his travel, he told the western people what he saw. But European countries didn't start using paper money till the1600s.
Today we have many ways to pay for things, such as coins, paper money and cards. Some prefer to pay by card. That's because paying with a card is easier and safer than carrying around a lot of “real” money.

More than a hundred years ago, an American produced (创造) a game. He called it indoor tennis. The Americans were not interested in it at first so he sent it to his London friends and it became very popular (流行) in Britain. The game was then played across the dining-room table or on the floor with the net hung between two chairs. In the early days ，the balls were made of cork (软木) or rubber. The bats(球拍) were made of wood.
A few years later a hollow (空心) ball like the one we use today was invented. The game then quickly spread all over the world. An Englishman once made a bat covered with rubber. He first played the game in England and called it "ping - pong". "Ping" was the sound of the bat when it hit the ball, and "pong" was the sound of the ball when it hit the table.

Smartphone ban(禁止)

According to the survey made last year, 68.1 percent of Chinese school students have their own smartphones.

Lei Yanqin, a deputy of NPC, suggested that smartphones should be banned at schools nationwide. She said that listening to music and playing games in class not only disturb teachers, but also make it difficult for students to listen carefully. She added that students might also show off (炫耀) their phones too much.

New uniform designs

Most junior high schools in China require students to wear a uniform. However, only three in ten students are satisfied with their uniforms, as they think they are old-fashioned and of poor quality, China Education Daily reported.

The Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang Central Committee suggested that the uniforms could be redesigned. The committee said the new design could include more elements(元素) of traditional Chinese culture. They added that better quality clothing should be used to make the uniforms so that they will be more comfortable to wear.

Video game rating system

Over 200 million teenagers across China play online games like King of Glory, Guangming Daily reported. With their computers and ipads, teenagers are able to play most online games produced in China and abroad. However, some violent games might not be suitable for young people.

Many NPC deputies suggested that a rating system(分级制度) for online games should be introduced. All games would be sorted into age groups according to their content. Players would have to provide their ID numbers before playing certain games.
