Life today has brought about new problem. One of the biggest problems of every nation is pollution. In America, there are laws {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the air and water clean. These are new laws and it has taken much time{#blank#}2{#/blank#} a polluted river or lake. Now the fish are healthy again and people can enjoy {#blank#}3{#/blank#} in the clean water. 
   When food is brought from the store to the home, it is packed in paper, glass, or plastic. Every day a newspaper comes to the home. Americans use {#blank#}4{#/blank#} all these materials in the garbage which was picked up by a large truck. The truck these materials to a garbage dump or a land-fill. The truck dumped the garbage into a large hole and then earth was pushed over the garbage until the hole was filled. Then, a new hole must be found.
As the years went by, the garbage increased as the population {#blank#}5{#/blank#} . Scientists suggested using some garbage again. They advised businessmen {#blank#}6{#/blank#} money by recycling or using paper, glass, and plastic again.
   Now, a recycling truck comes to each home once a week {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  up materials. American families are told {#blank#}8{#/blank#} their newspaper in boxes and clean all glass, and plastic. The truck takes them to factories for recycling.
   Recycling is a way {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the environment from pollution by {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  many materials again.

My mother was a housewife. She thought that successful people spent a lot more time {#blank#}1{#/blank#} than watching TV. So she asked my brother and me to read two books every week in our free time. She would check them with marks, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} she couldn't read the books at all.
When I went to school, I was an A-student, but not for long. I wanted cool {#blank#}3{#/blank#} and hung out with friends. I went from being an A-student to a C-student, but I didn't care. One night, I complained about not having enough Italian T-shirts. Then my mother gave me all her money. She said I could get the money {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to buy shirts if I finished buying all things the family needed. I was very {#blank#}5{#/blank#} that, but after I bought those things, there was no money left. I got to know how {#blank#}6{#/blank#} it was for my mother to do all this. I went back to my studies and become an A-student again. Finally, my dream {#blank#}7{#/blank#} and I become a doctor.
My story is really my mother's story--a woman with little education greatly changed my life as a {#blank#}8{#/blank#} . So, I believe there is no job more important than parenting.

    Mothers should be respected. My mother is a kind and gentle woman. She is very busy from morning till night. As a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}, she works hard. As a mother, she{#blank#}2{#/blank#} good care of us and gives us every comfort. She teaches math at a middle school. She goes to work{#blank#}3{#/blank#} in the morning and does not return home until late in the afternoon. She loves her students and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} for them. She is respected by{#blank#}5{#/blank#}her students and colleagues. She has been chosen or elected{#blank#}6{#/blank#}a model teacher several times. As soon as she comes back from school, she sets about {#blank#}7{#/blank#}housework and preparing nice dishes for us.{#blank#}8{#/blank#}she is busy and older for her age, she looks as cheerful and happy as ever.

    Often she says to us, "Work while you work, and play while you play. That is the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to happiness. If you do not work, you will become lazy and are of no use to society. ” What a good piece of advice it is! My mother is great indeed, and I always feel 80{#blank#}10{#/blank#}of her.

    Have you ever read Tom Sawyer? It's about a boy called Tom Sawyer. He lives {#blank#}1{#/blank#} his aunt Polly. He often gets into trouble with his aunt. Aunt Polly is very kind, but Tom thinks she is always trying to control him.

    Tom loves to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} risks. He does a lot of bad things, but he never really hurts anyone. He tries very hard not to go to school, and often jumps out of his bedroom window at night to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} his friends.

    Tom's best friend is Huck Finn, a boy who has no home. In the book, Tom, Huck, and another boy decide to leave the town{#blank#}4{#/blank#} they think that living there is too boring. They run away to an island in the middle of a river. They make fires, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} fish and sleep under the stars. They also make a {#blank#}6{#/blank#} to travel up and down the river. Without seeing the boys for days, the people in the town think that {#blank#}7{#/blank#} have died. One day, when Tom comes back to his aunt's {#blank#}8{#/blank#} to leave a letter saying that he is not dead, he hears his aunt talking about his funeral (葬礼). Then Tom has {#blank#}9{#/blank#} idea.
