There were once two doors in the same house. One was a beautiful living-room door, and the other was just a/an 1 bathroom door.

They both had terrible lives. The house was full of 2 children who were always slamming (摔门) and kicking the doors. Each night, when everyone was asleep, the doors would talk about their poor 3 . The living-room door was always ready to shout with anger, but the bathroom door would calm him down, saying, "Don't worry. They're children. They'll soon learn. Wait and things will 4 ."

And so the living-room door would calm down for a while. But one day, after a big party and much slamming and kicking of the doors, the living-room door 5 lost his temper and became very angry, saying, "That's enough! The next time someone slams me, I'm going to 6 , and they'll learn how important I am." The next day, the first time he was slammed, the living-room door broke.

This caused great 7 in the house, and the children were punished. But after a few days, the house owners didn't want to have a broken door. Instead of 8 it, they decided to buy a new one. The old door was abandoned (抛弃).

By then the beautiful living-room door regretted what he had done. For not being 9 enough, he was now abandoned, waiting to be turned into firewood. Meanwhile, his friend, the not so good-looking bathroom door, remained in his place, and the children were treating him with greater 10 than before.

Spider-Man is often thought of as one of the best superheroes of all time. But did you know that he almost wasn't created?

Stan Lee came up with the idea for Spider-Man in 1962. He was a different kind of superhero from what had come before. He was a teenager who had everyday problems. Back then, superheroes were strong grown men who saved people. Teenagers were helpers. The heroes didn't have to worry about real-life problems like paying bills (账单) and caring for an old relative. They flew in the sky and fought aliens. Stan Lee was about to change that.

When Stan told his boss about Spider-Man, his boss said it was "the worst idea" he'd ever heard, reported the Vintage News. For a time, it seemed like that was the end for Stan's friendly neighborhood hero. But then, Stan had an idea. One of Marvel Comics' books was getting canceled. According to Stan Lee. "Nobody cared what you put inside a book that was going to be killed." So, Stan Lee teamed up with artist Steve Diiko, who made Spider-Man's iconic (标志性的) look. Together, they put Spider-Man onto the 15th and last issue (期) of the comic book Amazing Fantasy. Spider-Man was a huge hit. The issue, showing the superhero on its cover, was a bestseller. And so, Spider-Man was given his own comic book, The Amazing Spider-Man. He has become one of the most beloved fictional (虚构的) characters of all time.

So, if you have an idea that you think is great, don't give up!

I love reading. I spend over seven hours a week reading different kinds of books.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}I read a lot at the weekend. 

I am interested in story books. I enjoy reading the books of Robert Louis Stevenson because I find them really interesting. For example, Treasure Island tells the story of a young boy who sailed (航行) the sea to look for the hidden treasure.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} His story gave me a lot of confidence. After reading the book, I am not as shy as before and I am willing to try new things. I also want to travel and have exciting experiences in the future. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Maybe I can become a writer when I grow up. 

I get my books from Sunshine Library- it is just on the other side of my home. My friends give me lots of advice on books. We often meet together and talk about what to read. 

Reading is always a wonderful time. Good books are good friends. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

They also open up a whole new world to me. 

When I was in seventh grade，I was shy，quiet and so was easily bullied（受欺负）

In an art lesson，just while the teacher was out，a big boy took away my pencil case，he took my schoolbag and pulled it towards him. I pulled back the schoolbag from his hand and for the first time，I pushed him away and hit him on the back. In the rest of the lesson，"Peter，are you OK? "

"Yes，"I answered. 

"No，you are not. Come to my office after class. "he said. 

There we had a long talk. He made me smile and I became confident again. He taught me some life lessons，and said，"Get up，but remember you are stronger inside，and if the bullies see this

I remembered these words. From then on，every time as I walked to school，I put my head high in the way

In a garden near the river, there lives a hen (母鸡) and her children. One day, they find some wheat (麦子) near {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (they) home. The hen asks her children to grow some wheat with her, so they can get more wheat in autumn. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} her children don't want to do the hard work. She has to do it herself.

Autumn {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(come) soon and they get lots of wheat.

The hen asks, "Will anyone take the wheat to the mill (磨坊) and get some flour (面粉) back?" But her children all say they {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(be) busy with their things. Then she leaves for the mill alone.

After {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(get) home, the hen asks, " {#blank#}6{#/blank#} can help me make some bread?" The children all refuse {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(help) and say, "That's too hard. We can't make it."

Hearing that, the hen has to work in the kitchen by herself. After a long time, the bread is ready and it looks {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(real) delicious. She asks her children, "Would you like some bread?"

All the children say, "I'd love to."

"I can let you enjoy the bread," the hen says. "But before you eat, I want to teach you {#blank#}9{#/blank#} important lesson: No pain, no gain. If you still don't do anything next time, I won't share the bread {#blank#}10{#/blank#}you."

Nick can't find his watch. It's brown. The watch is from his uncle Tom. He calls his father at 879﹣0785. He says, "Dad, I can't find my watch. Do you know where it is? " Mr. Smith says, I don't. Is it on your desk? " "No, it's not on the desk. " says Nick. 

Nick calls his mother at 879﹣6804. He asks, "Mom, do you know where my watch is? " Mrs. Smith says, I think it's in your room. " But Nick's room isn't tidy. He doesn't want to look for it everywhere. Nick puts (放) down the telephone and sits on the sofa. Nick's brother says, I . . . "

Nick says,  "Rick, I'm busy（忙的）

"Yeah? Busy looking for your watch? It's on your wrist（手腕）, " says Rick.
