①This is my wonderful school.
②My school is Saville Middle School. It's a big and nice school in London. There are 500 boys and 689 girls in my school. They are between 13 and 19 years old. All of them are friendly. There are 68 teachers in my school. They are hard-working and good at teaching.
③ The buildings in my school are new and beautiful. All the classrooms have two big blackboards, a television and five computers. They help us a lot. I like the school library very much. A lot of books are in it. I always read books with my friends there. If you can't find the book you want, please ask the teachers there for help. They're all nice. I also like the dining hall. There are a lot of tables and chairs, big televisions and ping-pong tables. We can watch TV and play ping-pong there.
④What a nice school! I love it very much.
After traveling over 18 hours, we finally arrived at Baige Primary School in Yunnan Province. We came here to be volunteer teachers during the summer holiday. Located in the mountains, the school had over 400 children aged from 6 to 13 but only four teachers. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} To enrich their lessons, we wanted to introduce different courses.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Before starting my first class, I spent several days reviewing key points and practicing often. In my first class, I poured out everything I had learned. However, the students weren't interested and didn't act well in my class.
After that, I changed my teaching plan. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} For example, when I taught the culture in the Tang Dynasty, I began the class with stories from Journey to the West. This time the students actively took part in the discussion. Even after class, some of them were still talking about what they had learned in the lesson.
I knew that I had succeeded. Thanks to my teaching style, the students easily understood and remembered the history. History class was not boring to them anymore.
After classes, we spent most of our time talking and playing games with the kids. Because of the location of the mountains, many children never went out. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} We often told fun stories from the cities and encouraged students to study hard and visit these cities by themselves in the future.
It was an unforgettable experience. We felt proud that we could enlighten(启发) the kids and bring joy to these young minds.
A. I decided to start with stories, telling them about those fun, touching and classic historical events. B. The class schedule(日程表) was simple: Chinese, math and PE lessons. C. As a history lover, I naturally became a history teacher. D. For them, the outside world was wonderful but couldn't be reached. E. At first, I found teaching was not an easy task. |
After reading the passage, what do you think of the writer? Why?( no more than 30 words) {#blank#}5{#/blank#}
