Once there was a father and a son. They were ill-tempered(坏脾气的) and never gave way to  1 .One day the father 2 to ask some friends to dinner in his house. He 3 his son to buy some meat in town. When the son walked towards the town gate, a man was coming from the outside. The gate wasn't 4 enough to let two men in and out at the same time. But neither of 5 would give way to the other. They stood straight face to face inside the gate hour after hour. But the father was worried. “What shall I do? My son hasn't 6  yet. I can't wait any more.” He wanted to know what was the 7 with his son. So he left his friends at home, and went to town 8 his son. “You may first take the 9 home for my friends .Let me 10 here instead.” he said to his son when he knew what had happened.

    Today, I want to tell you a story about something I did when I was 14 years old. I made some friends in school 1 they turned out to be bad. They were some boys who stole（偷盗） 2 and sold them. Whenever we were stealing a bike, a boy named John would break the lock 3 two other boys were watching out. Then one of us would 4 the bike to a cave （洞穴）. The next day, we would meet there and repaint the bike. When we stole four or five bikes, we would sell them 5 a few hundred dollars.

    One 6 afternoon, we went to an apartment in Bukit Batok. We found a bike on the fifth floor and started to work on the 7. It was hard to break. We spent 10 minutes 8 it. We were about to escape with the bike when the owner of the bike came out of the elevator. “My bike!” he 9.

    We dropped the bike and ran down but two policemen nearby 10 us. We were taken to the police station. Our parents were called and our teachers were told what had happened. The police took down what we had done. The next day, a bright Sunday, I 11 to the Boys' Home.

    Life in the Boys' Home was very hard but it 12 me a very important lesson. I learnt that stealing was not right. At the Boys' Home, the officers helped me and encouraged me 13 my ways. I decided to 14 stealing.

    To this day, I feel so 15 for what I have done. I hope you will learn something from my story.

    He was pleased to learn that Chibi knew all the places where the wild grapes and wild potatoes grew. He was amazed to 1 how much Chibi knew about all the flowers in our class garden. He liked Chibi's black and white drawings and put them up on the wall to be. 2 He like Chibi's own handwriting, which no one but Chibi could read, and he put that up on the wall.

    But, when Chibi appeared on the stage at the talent show of that year, no one could 3 his eyes. "Who is that?" "What can that stupid do up there?"

    Until Mr. Isobe announced that Chibi was going to imitate (模仿). the voices of crows. "Voices?" "Voices of crows?"

    4 he imitated the voices of newly hatched (孵化的) crows. And he made the mother crow's voice. Then he imitated the father crow's voice. He showed how crows cry early in the morning. He showed how crows cry when the village people have some unhappy accidents. He showed how crows 5when they are happy and cheerful. Everyone's mind was taken to the far mountainside from which Chibi probably came to school.

    Chibi made very special 6 deep down in his throat to imitate a crow in an old tree in the end. Now everybody could imagine 7 the far and lonely place where Chibi lived with his family. Then Mr. Isobe explained how Chibi had learned those calls- leaving his home for school at sunrise, and arriving home at sunset, every day for six long years.

    Every one of us cried, thinking how much we had been8 to Chibi all those long years.

    He was a boy beyond our usual imagination!

    It was Molly's job to hand her father his paper lunch bag each morning before he left home to work.

    One morning, besides his 1 lunch bag. Molly handed him a second paper bag, which looked a bit old.

    "Why two bags?" her father asked. "The other is something else," Molly answered. "What's in it?" "Just something. Take it with you."

    He put2 paper bags into his briefcase (公文包), kissed Molly and rushed off. At noon he opened Molly's bag and took out all the things: a small Teddy bear, 2 tiny sea shells (贝壳), 5 small stones, and 12 coins…The 3 father smiled, finished eating, and swept the desk clean into the wastebasket, Molly's things in the bag included, and then put himself into the afternoon work.

    That evening, Molly ran up to him 4 he was reading the newspaper.

    "Where's my bag?" "What's bag?" "The one I gave you this morning."

"I 5 it at the office. Why?" "I forgot to put this 6 in it," she said. "And, besides, Daddy, the things in the bag are the things I really like—I thought you might like to 7 with them. You didn't lose the bag, did you, Daddy?"

    "Oh, no. I just forgot to bring it home." he 8.

    While Molly hugged (拥抱) her father's neck, he opened the note that read: "I love you, Daddy." Molly had given him her 9 —all that a 7-year-old held.

    Love in a paper bag, and he 10 it. He had even thrown it in the wastebasket. So back he went hurriedly to the 11. Just before the night cleaner, he found all the things back and carried the bag home 12 .

    After dinner, he asked Molly to tell him about the things in the bag. It 13 a long time to tell. 14 had a story or a memory.

    The life journey with the people we love is all that really matters. It is such a simple 15  but it is so easily forgotten.

    Our dog named Zip always brings things home for us to keep! Many of them were toy bears, lambs and ducks. We never could 1the owners.

    One day Dad was 2 the newspaper, "Listen to this, everybody," he said. "To the person who took a Teddy bear from a child′s wagon(推车)-please bring back the toy bear. Our two-year-old son is very 3."

    "Zip does something 4again. He must have taken others′ toys," said Anita.

    "Yes," said Dad, "well, the paper gives the 5. This time I can take back Zip′s 6."

    "Do you think it is 7 to do that?" Mom asked. "If you tell others about Zip, who will believe you?"

    "I will 8 until dark  Then I′ll just put the Teddy bear at the front door and walk away. 9 will see me."

    Dad's idea 10 worked. He put Teddy at the gate. He turned to walk away and knocked into a chair!

    Dad started to 11. But he didn′t get very far. The gate light came on. A man opened the door. "12 is over here?" he called out.

    Dad kept silent and didn′t even try to 13. He just wanted to get away. Then the man saw 14.

    He shouted after Dad, "How 15 you are!" he said, "Taking toys from babies!"
