Mrs. Green is going to give a birthday party for Mary (Mary is her daughter). Mary is going to be thirteen years old. Twenty friends of Mary's are going to come to the party. They are all girls. Mrs. Green is getting ready for the party. Mrs. White is helping her.

  “Let's make a pretty cake,” Mrs. White says to Mrs. Green.

Then an old mouse stands up and asks, “The point(重点)is which of us will tie(系)the bell to the cat's neck?” No one says anything because no one dares(敢)to do it.

The lion and the goose

    It is a hot day in summer. A lion is walking along a lake. He is looking for something to eat. He is very hungry. A goose is swimming in the water. The lion is very happy to see him. “This is my lunch,” The lion says to himself（自言自语）.

“Hello Mr. Goose!” “Go away, you're bad lion” says the goose. “I have good news for you.” “What is it?” ask the goose. “I don't want other animals to hear it. Please come here.” Says the lion. The poor goose gest out of the water and runs to the lion. The lion eats him up.

    Miss Li is twenty-six years old. She likes children and likes her teaching work. She works at school and gives the children classes from Monday to Friday. Her lesson is very interesting. She has much work to do, but she often plays games with her students after school.

    On Saturday morning she drives her car to her father's house and stays with her father and mother. Sometimes she goes to see her friends on Sunday. She drives back to school on Monday morning.
