I have finally been able to become an active volunteer(n.志愿者) with the Free Meal Program in the city {#blank#}1{#/blank#} I live. I will volunteer(v.做自愿者) at weekends and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (hopeful), I will help feed less fortunate people at the Rescue Center every week. At the thought of this, I can't feel {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (happy)!

    I have applied at several other places {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (volunteer), like SPCA and my local hospital. There is a great sense of {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (accomplish) and pure joy in giving back to the community, helping others and in showing kindness. This is one of the things I live {#blank#}6{#/blank#}! I want to do what I can for society and help make a difference. I wish that many {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (inspire) to devote a bit of their time to local organizations in the future. There's always {#blank#}8{#/blank#} strong need for people to come together and help out fellow humans and animals too! When {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (do) voluntary work, we do our part in helping others. Meanwhile, volunteering {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (promote) our social awareness. We all believe volunteering is rewarding and look forward to more of it.

    California is the third largest state in the USA but has the largest population. It also has the{#blank#}1{#/blank#} of being the most multicultural state in the USA, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} people from all over the world. The customs and languages of the immigrants live on in their new home. This diversity of culture is not{#blank#}3{#/blank#} when you know the history of California.

    People from different parts of the world, attracted by the climate and the lifestyle, still immigrate to California. It is believed that before long the mix of nationalities will be{#blank#}4{#/blank#} great that there will be no distinct major{#blank#}5{#/blank#} or cultural groups, but simply a mixture of many races and cultures.

    Although at present human egg cells and embryos{#blank#}6{#/blank#} for cloning research are difficult to obtain, newspapers wrote of evil leaders{#blank#}7{#/blank#} to clone themselves to attain their ambitions. Religious leaders also raised moral questions. Governments became nervous and more conservative. Some began to reform their legal systems and{#blank#}8{#/blank#} research into human cloning, but other countries like China and the UK, continued to accumulate evidence of the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} medical aid that cloning could provide. However, scientists still wonder whether cloning will help or harm us and{#blank#}10{#/blank#} it is leading us.

    According to a recent survey, violence did {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(existence) in schools. Students showed their fear and parents and teachers also expressed their great concern about it. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (obvious), it's time for the whole society to pay more attention to the mental health of adolescents (青少年).

    Nowadays, school violence is {#blank#}3{#/blank#}hot issue. I think this is a phenomenon (现象) {#blank#}4{#/blank#} calls for our great concern. We should try every effort to prevent violence from {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(happen) at school, for more and more students would drop out of school {#blank#}6{#/blank#}their personal safety could not be ensured. In fact, violence can {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(learn). Children learn violent behavior from adults or from {#blank#}8{#/blank#}they see on television or on the Internet.

    If I meet with school violence, I will not answer violence {#blank#}9{#/blank#}violence, for it will result in more fighting. I will tell my teachers or parents about it. I think they will help me deal with it well and they will protect me from the bad guys.

All in all, every student {#blank#}10{#/blank#}behave himself and keep away from violence.

It{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(eventual) became China's primary faith, {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(widespread) than the original Chinese religions of Confucianism and Taoism．

    Silk Road trades traveled together in long caravans of camels. This mode of travel provided{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(protect) from robbers who might attempt {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (rob) the valuable goods being transported．The Silk Road was not only one single road, but{#blank#}9{#/blank#} whole collection of routes by which goods{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (transport) between the East and the West．
