Last Friday a storm swept through two villages in the New Territories, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  (destroy) fourteen homes. Seven others were so badly damaged {#blank#}2{#/blank#} their owners had to leave them, and fifteen others had broken windows or roofs. One person was killed, several were {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (serious) hurt and taken to hospital, and a number of other people received smaller hurt. Altogether over two hundred people were homeless after the storm.

    A farmer, Mr. Tan, said that the storm began early {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the morning and lasted for over an hour.

    “I {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (eat) with my wife and children,” he said, “when we heard a loud noise. A few minutes later our house fell down on top of us. We tried our best {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (climb) out but then I saw that one of my children was {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (miss). I went back inside and found him, safe {#blank#}8{#/blank#} very frightened.”

    Mrs. Woo Mei Fong said that her husband had just left for work when she {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (feel) that her house was moving. She ran outside at once with her children.

    Soldiers helped to take people out of the flooded area and the welfare department brought {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (they) food, clothes and shelter.

    I will never forget that at the age of 9 I was asked to deliver a speech entitled A Challenge in My Life before the whole class!     Xinyang Mao Jian is a famous and ancient green tea produce in Xinyang, Henan Province. The name can be divided into two parts that are associated with two aspects: “Xinyang”, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} first part, is the Xinyang city in Henan that produces this type of tea; “Mao Jian” are the words to describe the shape of the tea, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} is small and needle like.

    Xinyang has a tea history {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (date) back to 2,300 years ago—in 1987, at Gushi County of Xinyang, tea {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (discover) in an ancient tomb. In the past century, Xinyang Mao Jian has been considered one of the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (good) teas in China.

    Located in southern Henan Province, Xinyang is a place {#blank#}6{#/blank#} a mild climate and good conditions for growing trees that produce the tea's unique quality: Xinyang tea trees are planted at high altitudes where the weather is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (clear) divided by four distinct seasons.     Some theme parks are not only amusing but also educational. Take the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) in Hawaii for example. It not only shows visitors the Polynesian way of life but also protects their skills{#blank#}1{#/blank#}culture for the future.     A program called Everlasting Classics is becoming {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (increase) popular. The program, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} combines Chinese traditional poetry with music, was launched by China Central Television (CCTV) in 2018.

    And it became a great hit soon after the program {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (show) on CCTV 1. It was hosted by Sa Beining, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} CCTV host loved by the audience, and the Appreciation Group in the group included Professor Kang Zen from Beijing Normal University, Dean of the China Conservatory of Music, Wang Liguang, the famous hostess Zeng Baoyi and the well-known singer Yu Chengqing. Together, they led the audience to interpret and appreciate many classic Chinese poems, enjoying the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (beautiful) that the poems brought to the audience.
