“Equal pay for equal work” is a phrase by the American women who feel they are{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (fair) treated by society. They think it is not right for women to be paid less than men for the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} amount of work. Some people say men have more duties than women. A married man has to earn money to support his family and make important decisions, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} it is right for them to be paid more. Some are even against married women {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (work)at all. When wives go out to work, they say, the home and children are given no attention {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. If women are encouraged by equal pay to take up jobs, they will be able to do {#blank#}6{#/blank#} they are best at doing,such as making a nice home and bringing {#blank#}7{#/blank#} children. Women who disagree say that they want to escape from the limited place which society wishes them to fill and have {#blank#}8{#/blank#} freedom to choose between a job and home life {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a mixture of the two. As a matter of{#blank#}10{#/blank#}, women have the right not only to equal pay but also to equal chances.

Using Garbage as a Fuel

    Garbage can be a good fuel to use. The things in garbage do not look {#blank#}1{#/blank#}coal, petroleum, or natural gas, but they are chemically similar to these fossil fuels. As we use up our fossil fuel supplies, we might be able to use garbage as {#blank#}2{#/blank#}energy source. Burning garbage {#blank#}3{#/blank#}( be) not a new idea. Some cities in Europe and the United States {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(burn) garbage for years. The heat that is produced by burning garbage is used to boil water. The steam that is produced is used to make electricity or to heat nearby {#blank#}5{#/blank#}( build). In Paris, France, some power plants burn almost 2 million metric tons of the city's garbage each year. The amount of energy {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(produce) is about the same as would be produced by burning almost a half million barrels of oil!

    But there are problems in using garbage as a fuel. Garbage that burns {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(easy) , such as food and paper, must be separated from metals, glass, and other materials {#blank#}8{#/blank#}do not. Another problem is that burning garbage can pollute the air. Our fossil fuel supplies are {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(limit) . Burning garbage might be one kind of energy source that we can use to help meet our energy needs. This method could also reduce the amount of garbage {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(pile) up on the earth.

    Long time ago, a boy {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(name) Bob met a new friend in QQ, she is Larry.   Larry works with Transport Drivers. Inc. One morning in 2009, Larry was traveling along 165 north after delivering to one of his customers when he saw a car{#blank#}2{#/blank#}its bright lights on.     The man who had his bright lights on came over and told Larry he had made a call. They then heard a woman's voice coming from the damaged vehicle.{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (approach) the vehicle, they saw that a woman was trying to get out of the broken window. They told her to stay still, but she thought the car was going to explode. Larry told her that he had already put out the fire.

    Once fire and {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(emergent) people arrived, Larry and the other man backed off and let them go to work. Then, Larry asked the police {#blank#}9{#/blank#}he was needed or free to go. They let him and the other man go.

    One thing is for certain—It {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(be) his efforts that most likely saved the woman's life.

    Traditional Chinese culture is beginning to capture the attention of the world. Kung fu,{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (especial), has had a great effect {#blank#}2{#/blank#}the millions of people who first learned about China through it. From that, they may come to China and learn about some other {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(aspect) of this culture. Other Asian nations have long known about the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(great) of ancient Chinese culture. Their own cultures are {#blank#}5{#/blank#}mix of native ones and those Chinese characteristics. Korea and Japan long ago adopted Confucianism (孔子学说）, something that continues today even as it {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(challenge) by pop culture . This strength comes from the ideas {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (give) in the Four Books of Confucianism, which built upon the ideas of an even {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(much) ancient period codified (编纂) in the Five Classics . From them, the West learns {#blank#}9{#/blank#} is uniquely Chinese, for example, feng shui. So far China has taken steps {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(further) this spread of its culture by establishing Chinese Cultural Centers in such places as the United States and Europe.

    Cards and digital(数字的) technologies {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(kill) off cash slowly, but is it a cause for concern? Not {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(necessary). Here are some ways of making the most of digital finance.

    Cash is no longer king. Over recent years fewer and fewer transactions have been made with cash. The most recent figures show coins and notes are used just 34% of {#blank#}3{#/blank#} time, down from 63% a decade ago. And usage {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(predict) to fall to just 10% in 15 years.

    Instead we're paying with cards and digital technologies. Some of this is down to user choice, with contactless cards and smartphones making spending {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(fast) and more convenient.
