A Thanks-giving Campaign Day
    Today, we had a thanks-giving campaign day in our school with a lot of activities. In the morning, I made some thank-you cards and they {#blank#}1{#/blank#}to my teachers after class. The teachers were very happy to get them. From 3: 00 to 4:00 p. m, I joined in a speech contest. In it, I {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  a thank-you letter to Mum and Dad. After I came back home in the evening, I helped my parents {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the room and cook supper.
    I had such a meaningful day today. I realize that my parents and teachers and many others {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a lot for me now. I must thank them by {#blank#}5{#/blank#} harder and becoming a useful person in the future.

Sister: Tony, could you please help out with a few things?

Brother: Could I at least finish {#blank#}1{#/blank#} this show?

Sister: No. I think two {#blank#}2{#/blank#} of TV is enough for you!

Brother: Fine. What do you want me to do?

Sister: Could you take out the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, fold the clothes and do the dishes?

Brother: So much?

Sister: Yes, because Mom will be back from shopping any minute now. And she won't be happy if she sees this {#blank#}4{#/blank#}.

Brother: But the house is already pretty clean and {#blank#}5{#/blank#}!

Sister: Yes, well, it's clean, but it's not "mother clean"!

    In November 1979, pupils in England were able to watch a new TV program called Monkey.  Most of them {#blank#}1{#/blank#} this story for the first time.

    However, this story is not new to Chinese children. The Monkey King or Sun Wukong {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the main character in the traditional Chinese book Journey to the West.

    The Monkey King is not just a normal monkey. In fact, he sometimes {#blank#}3{#/blank#} like a monkey! This is because he can make 72 changes to his shape and size, turning himself into different animals and objects. But unless he {#blank#}4{#/blank#} his tail, he cannot turn himself into a man. To fight bad people, the Monkey King uses a magic stick. Sometimes he can make the stick so small that he can keep it in his ear. At other times, he is able to make it big and long.

    The Monkey King {#blank#}5{#/blank#} this stick to heaven to fight. The Jade Emperor(玉皇大帝) {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the Monkey King. Then the Buddha(如来佛祖)comes. Finally the Monkey King is trapped at the foot of the mountain by the Buddha.  Five hundred years later, he {#blank#}7{#/blank#} by the Tang Dynasty monk Xuanzang. Later, the Monkey King helps Xuanzang to the west.

    The Monkey King {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the children of China for many years. And as soon as the TV program came out more than 30 years ago, Western Children became interested in {#blank#}9{#/blank#} this story because the clever Monkey King keeps fighting {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the weak and never gives up.
