A man got lost while driving through a country. As he tried to read a map, he drove off the road into a ditch(沟渠) {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (luckily). Though he wasn't injured, his car was stuck deep in the mud(泥). So the man had got to walk to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} nearby farm to ask for help.

  “Warwick can get your car out of that ditch,” said the farmer, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  (point) to an old mule(骡). The man looked at the weak mu le and the farmer {#blank#}4{#/blank#} just stood there repeating, “Yep, old Warwick can do the job.” The man thought he had nothing to lose. Therefore, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} took the old man and Warwick to the ditch.

    The farmer hitched(套住) the mule to the car and {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (shout), “Pull, Fred! Pull, Jack! Pull, Ted! Pull, Warwick!” And the mule pulled the car from the ditch {#blank#}7{#/blank#} very little effort.

The man was {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (amaze). He thanked the farmer and asked, “Why did you call out all of those other names {#blank#}9{#/blank#} you called Warwick?” The farmer smiled and said, “Old Warwick is just about blind. Once he believes he's part of a team, he won't min d {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (pull).”

Recently I failed an exam. However, when I came out of my teacher's office, I told myself, "Smile! It's not so serious."

    I smiled a big smile and it {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(work) a little, really.

Everyone gets {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(disappoint) sometimes. I used to be always influenced by pressure and I was often in low spirits. But one day I meet {#blank#}3{#/blank#}a sentence in the Bible, "Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself, let the day's own trouble be enough for the day." {#blank#}4{#/blank#} suddenly occurred to me that {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(worry) about a problem doesn't help. Why not just give a big smile and face up to the trouble？"

    Some students who had graduated visited their university professor. The conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.     Swedish businessman Nile Bergqvist is delighted with his new hotel, the world's first igloo (冰屋) hotel.

    {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (build) in a small town, it has been attracting lots of visitors, but soon the fun will be over. In two weeks' time Bergqvist's ice creation {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (be) nothing more than a pool of water. "We don't see it as a big problem," he says. "We just look forward to replacing {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

    Bergqvist built his first igloo in 1991 for an art exhibition. It was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} successful that he designed the present one, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} measures roughly 200 square meters. Six workmen spent more than eight weeks {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (pile) 1, 000 tons of snow onto a wooden base. When the snow froze, the base {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (remove).

    After their stay, all visitors receive a survival certificate recording their success. Without{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (window) and places to hang clothes, it may seem more like a survival test than a relaxing hotel break with temperatures below 0℃. "It's great fun," Bergqvist explains. "As well as a good start in survival training."

    The {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (popular) of the igloo is beyond doubt. It is now attracting tourists {#blank#}10{#/blank#} all over the world. At least 800 people have stayed at the igloo this season even though there are only ten rooms.
