Some time ago, a light passenger plane flew {#blank#}1{#/blank#} course(航线) and thus crashed in the mountains and the pilot {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(kill). The only passengers, a young woman and her two baby daughters, were unhurt. It was the middle of winter. Snow {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(lie) thick on the ground. The woman knew that the nearest village was kilometers away and she was not strong enough {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(carry) her baby daughters there. When it grew dark, she turned the suit-case into a bed, where the children,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (cover) with all the clothes she could find, could be protected from the wind. During the night, it got {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(terrible) cold. The woman kept as near as she could to the children and even tried to get into the case herself, but it was too small. Early next morning, she heard planes {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(fly) overhead and wondered how she could send a signal. Then she had an idea. She wrote the letters SOS in the snow. Luckily, a pilot saw {#blank#}8{#/blank#}signal and sent a message by radio to the nearest town. It was not long {#blank#}9{#/blank#}a helicopter arrived on the scene to save the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (survive) of the plane crash.

    New "Star Wars" Attractions Set to Open at Disney Theme Parks in 2019

The galaxy (银河系) that seems so far, far away just got a little closer.

    On Tuesday, Disney announced "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge", a highly {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (expect) themed land under construction, would open in summer 2019 at California's Disneyland and in late fall 2019 at Florida's Disney World.

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the announcement was made, officials had only said the new land would open soon.

    No specific date {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (announce) for the Disneyland opening. But if past summer openings are any indication, "Galaxy's Edge" is expected to open in late June.

The additions will be Disney's {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (big) "single-themed land expansion" ever, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger. Each will be an expansive 14 acres (英亩). A copy of the Millennium Falcon spaceship, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} guests will be able to pilot, will be a key attraction.

    Galaxy's Edge will immerse (使沉浸于) visitors in the Star Wars universe, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (transport) them to a never-before-seen Star Wars planet—a remote trading port largely ignored by warring people and one of the last stops before wild space. This planet is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} Star Wars characters and their stories will come to life. It will feature two major attractions: {#blank#}8{#/blank#} allowing guests to pilot the Millennium Falcon and the other dropping riders into the middle of a battle. The most advanced video techniques are expected to power each attraction.

    Even as Galaxy's Edge {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (approach), Disneyland is making changes, both large and small, in advance. Recent projects have shifted queues for "Dumbo the Flying Elephant" and "It's a Small World". These are the efforts to improve traffic flows near the attractions. Similar changes have been made in Adventureland {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (ease) congestion points. Work has started on a new luxury resort in Downtown Disney. Officials have closed Rainforest Café, ESPN Zone and AMC Theaters to make room.

    There are about 100 million middle-aged women dancing in parks and on squares in China, and Deborah Roundy, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} U.S retired school teacher, is one of them. Mrs. Roundy is the only foreigner on the Shanghai dance team at Tongji University, where she is {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(current) teaching English.

    Mrs. Roundy ran upon a dozen or so middle-aged women dancing {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the tunes of Chinese songs in 2012. At the time, she didn't feel used to the new environment and wanted to have some fun in her life. She {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(invite) to join the dancing team.

    At first, Mrs. Roundy communicated with her teammates by {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(exchange) notes to help translate for her. Now she uses a translation app on her iPad.

    {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the Chinese language is not the most difficult thing for her, mastering Chinese dance is. Mrs. Roundy used to do ballet. She said {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(dance) in the U.S. always dance facing the audience. But in China, they change directions all the time, and it was very {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(confuse) for her at first.

    They have developed good personal relations. Mrs. Roundy says they also go out to eat and on field trips together, which are {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(forget) experiences for her.

    Square dancing opens a window for her {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(understand) China, Mrs. Roundy said: Besides dancing, she and her husband have been active in community life, teaching English, and helping elderly neighbors.

    Jackie Robinson made his debut (初次露面) with the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15,1947, and broke the color barrier {#blank#}1{#/blank#}African Americans in baseball.

    "It was the most {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (eager) expected debut in the history of the national pastime," sports author Robert wrote.     Off the field, Robinson was a forefather of the Civil Rights Movement, speaking out against {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (race) discrimination and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (push) baseball to use its economic influence to fight against racialism.
