Do you often help the people who are in need?

One day, two boys were walking along the road to school when they saw an old woman carrying a large basket of pears. The old woman looked very tired. They went up and said, “Are you going to town? If you are, we'll help you carry your basket.”

“Thank you,” said the woman. “That's very kind of you.” Then she told them that she was going to the market to sell the pears. So the boys decided to lift the basket together. They walked slowly with the heavy basket, but they were happy.

 The other day, I saw a little girl pick up a piece of banana peel(水果皮). She threw it into the dustbin(垃圾箱). “I  hope nobody would throw that on the street,”she said. “Someone may slip (滑倒) and fall.”

Perhaps some people may say that these are not great things. That's right. But almost all great things are made up of such small things. We shouldn't wait for the time to do great things. We should begin with these things that are full of love.

    Cindy is a student. She is in Class Two. Kate is in Class Two, too.  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Cindy is next to Kate.

    It's Friday afternoon .They have two classes. It's 2:20. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} The first lesson is math. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Cindy looks unhappy because math is difficult for her. She doesn't like math. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} . She likes the second lesson. The second lesson is English. Cindy thinks that English is interesting and useful. But it's nice for Kate to have math lesson. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Her math teacher can play games in his class. Kate can get great fun from her math lessons.

    Cindy and Kate are good friends. But they don't like the same subject.

    More and more people are using the Internet to buy things. Many people like shopping on the Internet ①you can buy almost everything on the Internet. Shopping on the Internet is becoming more and more popular. You can shop at any time. The shops are always open. And online shopping can save a lot of time. When you want to shop on the Internet, you only need a computer and a mouse! But you also need a credit card (信用卡) when shopping on the Internet. You always have to be careful with your credit card number, because people sometimes steal (偷) ② it from online stories.

    Online shopping has several disadvantages, too. You can't see the product or try on the clothes. Paying over the Internet isn't always safe.

    I'm a 34-year-old man, married, lived in a nice house, and have a successful career. But my life was not always so great. I had a learning disability from an early age. I went to a special school where I got plenty of extra(额外的)help. Still, I suffered(遭受)the rest of my school days in public schools.

    My life improved greatly when I discovered art. The art world gave me a chance to express myself without words. I went to a workshop and gradually became good at making things with clay. Here I learned my first important lesson: disabled as I was in language, I could still be smart and well express myself with clay. And my confidence(自信)came along.

    I got my next lesson from rock climbing. It was a fun thing but I was scared from the start. I soon noticed it wasn't an easy thing: it needed lots of practice. So I did it more. After about five years of climbing, I found myself in Yosemite Valley on a big wall. I learned that if you fall in love with something and do it all the time, you will get better at it.

    Later I decided to learn how to read and write. I practiced reading and writing, which I used to avoid as much as possible. After two years, I was literate(有文化的).

    Through the long process with art, climbing, and reading and writing, now I've got to a point in my life: I am smart enough to dive into(潜入)an area that is totally unknown, hard, but interesting.
